Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of students' mental health and social needs, gathering comprehensive data through interviews and standardized tools to inform individualized treatment plans.
• Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy, including methods such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), tailored to the needs of children and adolescents.
• Establish strong therapeutic alliances with clients by creating a safe and empathetic environment, allowing them to discuss feelings, thoughts, and behaviors openly.
• Collaborate closely with clients, educators, and families to develop personalized treatment plans that detail intervention strategies and timelines for assessment of progress.
• Advocate for clients’ access to necessary resources and services, effectively guiding them through mental health, educational, and community resources.
• Maintain precise and confidential records of assessments, treatment plans, and client progress notes to ensure compliance and facilitate communication with other professionals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with school-aged children facing a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues. Your role will focus on understanding the complexities of each student's life, enhancing their academic performance and overall quality of life through tailored interventions.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A valid and current Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State.
• A minimum of three years of direct experience providing psychotherapy within diverse settings, preferably with an emphasis on children and adolescents.
• Proven skill in applying solution-focused methodologies and an aptitude for fostering meaningful client relationships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building rapport with clients, families, and educational staff.
