You are an innovative and experienced consultant, who is passionate about applying rigorous economic theory and empirical methods to evaluate and resolve natural resource challenges. You are self-motivated, curious, entrepreneurial, and creative. You enjoy mentoring and collaborating with other economists, as well as with ecologists, human health and ecological risk assessors, and engineers in interdisciplinary teams. You enjoy communicating economics to non-economists and are confident in your ability to market and develop business. You believe that the best marketing comes from outstanding client service and delivering technically defensible work. You actively engage in thought leadership by presenting and publishing scientific findings. You welcome the opportunity to work on complex and novel problems and serve as a consulting or testifying expert in legal cases that hinge on natural resource economics. Your primary practice includes one or more of the following subjects:
  • Any area of resource economics (water, forest, land, fisheries, recreation)

About the Job
Integral's principals are business leaders, client leaders, and staff leaders. Principals are recognized internally and externally as technical and strategic subject matter experts in one or more subjects. They consistently generate labor revenue of at least $1.25M per year through a combination of collaborative and independent sales. Prior consulting experience is essential.
Principals direct major technical efforts and project teams, ensuring technical excellence, alignment with contractual requirements, and compliance with the firm's quality assurance program. They help develop the next generation of firm leaders, by recruiting new talent and coaching colleagues. Paramount to the position is successful client development-for both existing and new clients and in both existing and new services.
This position may offer in-office, remote, or hybrid opportunities based on the candidate's location and the needs of the organization.

  • Promote and expand the firm's reputation, as well as one's personal reputation, by presenting at scientific conferences and publishing in the peer-reviewed scientific literature
  • Understand and reinforce Integral's Health and Safety Program and Quality Management Program
  • Ensure that work is performed by the most appropriate staff and in accordance with the applicable standard of care.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Advanced degree in economics, Ph.D. preferred
  • 15 years of directly relevant experience (e.g., in consulting, industry, trade association, research institute)
  • Successful track record in generating $1.25M per year in business and completing projects on time, on schedule, and with high quality
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A desire to grow both intellectually and professionally
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team of economists, scientists, and engineers

Compensation is commensurate with experience and internal equity, within the listed range. An employee's total compensation package includes annual salary, company-subsidized (employee and family) medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) participation with a company match of 1% to 4% of annual compensation, company-paid life and short- and long-term disability insurance, paid sick leave (10 days), paid vacation (10 or/to 20 days; determined by title at hire), paid holidays (9 days) per year, and the potential for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance. Paid time off will be prorated to reflect part-time scheduled hours, if applicable.
