You will work closely with educators and administrative teams to integrate mental health support within the educational framework, ensuring that students feel understood, supported, and equipped to handle their challenges. • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments for students to uncover emotional, social, and economic challenges that may affect their academic performance and well-being.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address specific mental health needs while collaborating with teachers, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide individual and group counseling aimed at building coping strategies for students facing adjustment issues, grief, anxiety, and depression.
• Coordinate with local mental health resources and community organizations to ensure continuity of care post-discharge and assist with transitional needs.
• Participate in school-based committees, contributing insights regarding social and emotional learning initiatives and promoting mental health awareness.
• Deliver crisis intervention and immediate support in cases of acute mental health emergencies within the school environment.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in documentation following established hospital policies.

The primary focus of this position revolves around students within the school system who require mental health support. This role will involve working with a diverse range of students, from those coping with academic pressures to those facing significant emotional distress or trauma. The LICSW will play an integral role in creating an inclusive environment where students feel safe to express their challenges and aspirations.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• An active Massachusetts state license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).

• A minimum of two years’ experience in a healthcare or school setting is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with educational environments and student dynamics.
• Understanding of relevant medical terminology, mental health disorders, and effective crisis intervention techniques.
• Proficient communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including students, families, teachers, and healthcare providers.
