Job description

Location: Utah

Employment Type: Full-Time

Work Arrangement: Utah-based; work arrangement to be determined based on business needs and candidate circumstances

Compensation: Competitive base salary plus commission

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, driven PEO/ASO Business Development Manager to expand our client base and develop long-term relationships with businesses seeking solutions for HR, payroll, workers’ compensation, benefits, compliance, and workforce administration.

This is a Utah-based position with the opportunity to develop business locally and nationwide. Our company supports clients across the United States, allowing the successful candidate to pursue single-state and multi-state business opportunities without being limited to a traditional local sales territory.

The specific work arrangement for this position will be determined based on business needs, the candidate's experience, location, and the requirements of the role. Any remote or hybrid work arrangement is subject to Company approval and may be modified based on business needs.

The ideal candidate has experience in consultative B2B sales and is comfortable working directly with business owners, executives, brokers, and other trusted advisors.

Experience selling PEO, ASO, payroll, HR outsourcing, commercial insurance, employee benefits, workers’ compensation, or related business services is highly desirable. Workers’ compensation knowledge is a significant advantage.

What You'll Do

  • Develop new PEO and ASO business through prospecting, referrals, networking, strategic partnerships, broker relationships, and other sales channels.
  • Build relationships with business owners, CFOs, HR leaders, insurance brokers, benefits professionals, CPAs, and other referral partners.
  • Develop opportunities with single-state and multi-state employers nationwide.
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand prospects' payroll, HR, benefits, compliance, workers’ compensation, and risk-management needs.
  • Recommend solutions based on each client's workforce, operations, geographic footprint, risk profile, and business objectives.
  • Partner with internal teams to evaluate opportunities, obtain pricing, prepare proposals, and develop competitive solutions.
  • Identify workers’ compensation considerations that may affect an opportunity, including classifications, claims history, loss experience, experience modification, and other risk factors.
  • Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through proposal, negotiation, closing, and transition to implementation.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasting and activity reporting.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referral and channel partners.
  • Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities.
  • Stay current on trends affecting employers, including HR compliance, payroll, workers’ compensation, benefits, and employment-related risk.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven success in B2B sales, preferably within PEO, ASO, payroll, HR outsourcing, employee benefits, commercial insurance, workers’ compensation, or related professional services.
  • Strong consultative sales and business-development skills.
  • PEO/ASO industry experience preferred but not required for candidates with closely related experience.
  • Workers’ compensation knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with or selling to multi-state employers is a plus.
  • Existing relationships with insurance brokers, benefits professionals, CPAs, business advisors, or employers are highly valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, develop a pipeline, build referral relationships, and close business.
  • Comfortable discussing pricing, risk, payroll, HR, benefits, compliance, and workers’ compensation with business owners and executive-level decision-makers.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to operate independently while collaborating with internal teams.
  • Ability to travel for client meetings, networking, and business-development activities as needed.

Compensation

This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission, with compensation determined based on the candidate's relevant experience, industry knowledge, existing relationships, and demonstrated sales performance.

The commission structure opportunity will be discussed during the interview process.

Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and overall fit for the position.

Why Join Us

This role offers the opportunity to build a book of business beyond a traditional local territory. Although the position is based in Utah, our nationwide capabilities allow the successful candidate to pursue local, regional, and national opportunities.

We provide the operational infrastructure and expertise needed to support employers facing increasingly complex HR, payroll, compliance, benefits, and workers’ compensation challenges.

If you are a relationship-driven sales professional with PEO/ASO experience or a strong background in workers’ compensation, payroll, HR outsourcing, employee benefits, commercial insurance, or related B2B services we'd like to hear from you.
