Job description

Position Summary

Harness is looking for a highly strategic Web Strategy & SEO Lead to own the global website experience and organic discoverability strategy for Harness.com. This role sits at the intersection of web strategy, SEO/AEO, content architecture, and growth - and is responsible for ensuring Harness is discoverable across traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven discovery surfaces (LLMs, answer engines, zero-click experiences).

You will act as the single-threaded owner of website strategy and organic growth: setting direction, defining standards, prioritizing initiatives, and orchestrating execution across internal partners and external vendors. While you will be fluent in Webflow and modern web tooling, this role is not focused on day-to-day publishing or ticket execution. Instead, it is accountable for outcomes: traffic quality, discoverability, conversion, and pipeline impact

This is not a "ticket taker" role. This is a strategic owner role for someone who thrives on clarity, leverage, and measurable impact

About the roleWeb Strategy & Ownership
  • Own the end-to-end web strategy for Harness.com, aligning site architecture, content, and UX with business goals (pipeline, product adoption, brand).
  • Act as the primary owner of the website roadmap, balancing strategic initiatives with ongoing production needs.
  • Continuously evolve the website to reflect product launches, positioning updates, and market trends.
SEO & Discoverability
  • Own Harness's organic discoverability strategy across traditional search engines and AI-driven answer engines (e.g. Google SGE, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude).
  • Define and evolve an AEO / GEO strategy focused on entity authority, structured content, use-case clarity, and high-signal pages optimized for LLM citation and summarization.
  • Partner with Product Marketing and Content to ensure product positioning, narratives, and use cases are reflected in search- and AI-readable site architecture.
  • Lead keyword strategy, content gap analysis, and competitive audits - with increasing emphasis on intent, topics, and entities over pure keyword volume.
  • Establish standards for technical SEO, structured data, internal linking, and content templates that scale across modules and solutions.
  • Own performance measurement across classic SEO metrics and emerging indicators of AI discoverability (citations, visibility, zero-click exposure).
  • Manage and direct external SEO / GEO agencies or vendors, setting strategy, reviewing output, and holding them accountable to performance outcomes.
Web Production & Execution
  • Own the Webflow platform strategy, including site architecture, CMS structure, templates, governance, and quality standards.
  • Ensure Webflow is used as a scalable, performant growth platform
  • Partner with design, engineering, and external vendors to ship new site experiences, templates, and technical improvements.
  • Oversee execution of site updates and launches, ensuring speed, accessibility, SEO hygiene, and brand consistency.
  • Set clear processes and prioritization for web work
Conversion & Performance Optimization
  • Optimize key conversion paths across the site (product pages, solutions, resources, demos).
  • Run experiments (A/B tests, messaging iterations, layout changes) to improve engagement and conversion rates.
  • Partner with demand gen on landing pages and campaign experiences.
About you
  • 6+ years of experience in web production, SEO, or digital marketing in a B2B SaaS or tech environment.
  • 1+ years of experience in WebFlow CMS specifically. Deep familiarity with modern CMS platforms and web tooling.
  • Experience owning web and organic growth strategy through influence, prioritization, and vendor management, not just hands-on execution.
  • Proven experience owning and operating a high-traffic, high-impact website.
  • Strong hands-on SEO expertise (technical, on-page, and content)
  • Strong understanding of B2B buyer journeys and how websites support demand generation.
  • Comfortable working with data and analytics to guide decisions.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance strategy with execution.
  • A proactive operator who sees problems, proposes solutions, and drives them to completion.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in DevOps, cloud, or developer-focused products
  • Familiarity with marketing automation, personalization, or experimentation tools
  • Experience partnering with global teams and supporting international sites
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge or comfort working closely with developer
Work Location
  • Remote within the U.S or Hybrid from one of our U.S offices.
What you will have at Harness
  • Competitive salary
  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Flexible Time Off and Parental Leave
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual social and team building events
  • Monthly internet reimbursement

The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $130,000 and $150,000 annually. Salary is determined by a combination of factors including location, level, relevant experience, and skills. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.  The compensation package for this position may also include equity, and benefits.
