Cutting Tool Sales Engineer - Automotive Manufacturing

Location: Michigan (Preferred) | Remote | Travel Required

Drive Manufacturing Productivity

Decatur Diamond is seeking a motivated Cutting Tool Sales Engineer to develop new business and support automotive OEM and Tier 1 manufacturers. This is an excellent opportunity for a technical sales professional who enjoys solving machining challenges, improving manufacturing productivity, and building long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow automotive OEM and Tier 1 accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, tool life, quality, and cost per part.
  • Recommend advanced tooling solutions including PCD, CBN, carbide, and engineered tooling.
  • Conduct customer visits, tooling evaluations, and machining trials.
  • Work closely with manufacturing engineers, production teams, and purchasing.
  • Prepare quotations, technical presentations, and sales proposals.
  • Manage territory activity and achieve sales growth objectives.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industrial cutting tool sales or manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes including milling, drilling, reaming, and turning.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage a sales territory independently.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
