Job description

Job Title: Senior Document Review Attorney

Location: Towson, MD

Employment Type: Full-Time (On-site)

Compensation: $140,000.00 -$200,000.00

About the Opportunity

We’re seeking a senior legal professional who thrives on detailed document review, research, and system-building — not courtroom drama or client billing. At Stouffer Legal, your role ensures that every will, trust, and estate plan we deliver is flawless, legally compliant, and up-to-date with Maryland and federal law. This is your opportunity to lead behind the scenes, mentoring attorneys and protecting clients by perfecting the legal foundation of their future.
In this role, you will not be drafting trusts day-to-day, but rather applying your technical expertise to review, refine, and enhance our legal documents and processes. If you are someone who thrives on research, prides yourself on accuracy, and sees technology as a tool to drive legal excellence — you will find a home here.

This position also includes a potential partnership track for candidates who demonstrate strong leadership, legal mastery, and alignment with the firm’s mission.

Qualifications

  • Active licensed attorney
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Estate Planning and Estate Administration or proven history of being able to master new areas of law
  • Highly experienced in estate plan drafting, with strong knowledge of best practices
  • Comfortable reviewing and refining complex legal documents prepared by others
  • Experience with Irrevocable Trusts is a plus
  • Embraces technology to enhance legal accuracy and workflow efficiency
  • Detail-oriented, systems-minded, and passionate about getting things right the first time
  • Strong research skills with a genuine enjoyment of technical legal work

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough legal research and provide clear, actionable guidance on technical legal questions
  • Review and quality-check estate planning documents prepared by our drafting team and attorneys
  • Maintain and enhance our legal infrastructure as we expand our service lines
  • Draft legal opinion letters and guidance memos
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys and the drafting team to ensure consistency and accuracy across all legal documents
  • Use modern legal tools and resources to enhance accuracy, streamline processes, and support compliance workflows

Who Thrives Here

  • Detail-focused attorneys who see legal practice as both an art and a science
  • Professionals who enjoy building systems and solving complex legal puzzles
  • Attorneys who appreciate a structured yet forward-thinking environment, where precision and innovation go hand in hand
  • Someone who enjoys seeing their impact — ensuring our clients’ plans are sound, accurate, and fully compliant
