• Job Title: Licensed Mental Health Therapist 
• Base Salary: 85k – 105k, commensurate with experience  
• Location:  Remote (Must be licensed in Washington State) 
• Hours: 9a – 5p; M-F; Pacific Time  
• Travel Requirements: up to 10% within the US 
• Reports to: Clinical Director of Behavioral Health 

 
Job Summary 

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist will provide remote psychotherapy services to individuals experiencing mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorders in the state of Washington. This role focuses on delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions, conducting assessments, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care. The therapist will primarily work with individuals referred from an opioid treatment program and must be comfortable utilizing telehealth platforms. This is a remote position operating during Pacific Time hours. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Services to be provided remotely to individuals seeking therapy for mental health disorders and/or co-occurring disorders. Individuals being referred to this service provider will be active patients of an opioid treatment program. 
• Assess and diagnose patients for mental health/ substance use diagnoses using DSM 5 TR and/or ASAM criteria.   
• Prepare individualized treatment plans to address mental health or co-occurring disorders of the patient with the input of the patient, relevant providers and patient's chosen supports.  
• Provides diagnostic, treatment, referral, and crisis intervention services for patients in accordance with standards established by incumbent's professional mental health organization (American Psychological Association, etc.).  
• Conducts individual psychotherapy for adults.   
• Coordinates service provision to patients and consults with professional colleagues as needed to promote optimal patient care including appropriate referrals for psychiatric evaluation or medication. 
• Participates in interdisciplinary case conferences with the clinic partner
• Conducts risk assessments and referrals as appropriate. 
• Maintains all appropriate patient records in the Electronic Medical Record according to documentation policies and guidelines. 
• Participates in committee, departmental, and team meetings as relevant and required. 
• Supervisory: The Licensed Mental Health Therapist may provide clinical supervision to unlicensed therapists, interns, or other mental health professionals as required. This may include reviewing clinical documentation, providing case consultations, ensuring adherence to ethical and professional standards, and offering guidance on treatment approaches.

• Strong communication skills – both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex clinical information effectively to patients, families, and professional colleagues.
• Possesses a patient-centric focus and approach, demonstrating empathy, active listening, and the ability to build therapeutic relationships with diverse populations.
• Ability to use analytical, logical, and creative problem-solving techniques to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and electronic medical records, ensuring secure and efficient communication and documentation.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations effectively, including risk assessments and emergency interventions with the collaboration of the clinic partner.
• Commitment to continuous professional development, staying updated on best practices and emerging research in clinical psychology and telehealth treatment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and meet documentation deadlines. 

Education & Experience 

• Master's Degree from an accredited university or institution of higher learning in counseling, clinical social work or psychology that focuses on clinical practice.  
• Current, valid, and unrestricted license in the State of Washington: LPC, LMFT, LCSW
• 3 years of experience in psychotherapy; inclusive of at least one year delivering telehealth services using appropriate remote tools to virtually connect with patients.   

Decision Making Authority 

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist will have the authority to make clinical decisions regarding patient diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions. This includes determining appropriate treatment modalities, crisis management strategies, and referrals for psychiatric evaluation or medication management. 

Contact (Internal/External) 

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist will work closely with the Clinical Director of Behavioral Health to ensure the highest standards of care for patients. This includes collaborating on treatment protocols, case consultations, quality assurance measures, and compliance with organizational policies. Additionally, the therapist will engage with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, primary care providers, care coordinators, and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care for patients. External contacts may include insurance providers, legal representatives, and community-based mental health organizations. 

Physical & Sensory Demands 

This position will require extended periods of sitting, typing, and working on a computer screen. Close vision is required for computer work. 

Working Environment 

This is a remote position, with expected working hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm PT. Occasional travel to Indigenous Pact work sites may be required.
