Job description

Company Description
About Nearmap
Property intelligence is reshaping how the world understands the built environment, and Nearmap is driving that. We put powerful aerial imagery, AI-driven analytics, and geospatial tools into the hands of the people who plan, build, insure, and govern the places we all live and work. Our technology turns property uncertainty into decisive action, and our culture brings out the best in the people who build it.
We move fast, we care about craft, and we're proud of what we're building. If you're energized by turning hard problems into real-world impact, we'd love to meet you.
Job Description
About the Role
Location: Fully remote within the continental United States.
Government agencies do work that genuinely matters - assessing property fairly, planning safer communities, responding when disaster hits. As Solutions Product Manager, Government, you'll own how Nearmap shows up for that work: setting the direction for our government product solutions, getting close to what customers actually need, staying a step ahead of the market and competition, and shaping that insight into requirements that create real value for the people relying on us.
Working in close partnership with other senior product leaders, you'll own new solution development and sharpen existing offerings, and you'll team up regularly with sales, engineering, and marketing to make sure every initiative is well-defined and actually lands for customers.
This role blends strategic ownership with hands-on execution: you'll gather insights, write requirements that stick, drive delivery priorities, and track performance - all while building the kind of deep expertise in geospatial technology and location intelligence that others will come to rely on, alongside a team that will back you up along the way.
Key Responsibilities
You'll own the Product Owner role for the delivery stream, which means:
  • Partnering with other senior product leaders to define product requirements and priorities for Government solutions
  • Translating customer and business needs into clear, actionable requirements and acceptance criteria the technical delivery team can run with
  • Owning product metrics and turning them into insights the broader product org can act on
  • Digging into call recordings and other signals to surface insight for the wider team
  • Leading backlog grooming, priority refinement, and requirements alignment with the delivery team

You'll become the authority people rely on:
  • Build deep expertise across government use cases - you'll come to know customer workflows, pain points, and industry-specific challenges inside and out
  • Develop real command of critical areas like property assessment and management, land development, public safety, portfolio/asset management, and disaster response, while staying ready to build expertise in whatever comes next

You'll build relationships that matter, because this job runs on them:
  • Regularly connecting with Sales, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success to surface and review customer pain points, opportunities, and obstacles to selling or upselling
  • Talking directly with customers to understand how they use and experience Nearmap's products, and spotting opportunities to solve new problems or upsell
  • Sharing what you learn with Nearmap stakeholders in ways that spark real action and improvement
  • Connecting with ecosystem partners - technology platforms, channel partners, analysts, media - to help raise Nearmap's profile
  • Listening to sales and customer success calls to build a real understanding of what customers care about

Uphold Nearmap's values and comply with company standards and all local statutory requirements:
  • Complies with all local legislative requirements.
  • Adheres to company guidelines and the corporate Code of Conduct.
  • Where appropriate keeps up to date with legislative requirements.
  • Acts in an ethical way when dealing with company assets and other people.

Qualifications
Here's what we're looking for in the person who steps into this seat:
Experience
  • 5-10+ years of experience in government - ideally within a government geospatial office - with real project or product leadership experience under your belt
  • Experience with geospatial data and how it's used in government is a big plus
  • Familiarity with government procurement, and how local, state, and federal entities work together, will serve you well here
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Skills
  • You can build, validate, and pitch a compelling business case in plain language - fast and thoroughly
  • You're comfortable with geospatial technology and remote sensing, and ideally know your way around Esri, Autodesk, or Bentley products
  • You write requirements sharp enough for a technical team to run with immediately
  • You have a track record of making things happen - juggling multiple priorities and stakeholders while still hitting your deadlines
  • You communicate clearly and confidently across a cross-functional team
  • You can pull real insight out of messy, diverse data

Personal Attributes
  • A strong communicator - in writing, in conversation, and visually
  • Commercially sharp, strategic, and genuinely energized by driving revenue
  • Analytical and personable - equally at home with data and with people across every engineering discipline
