Who We Are
At TELUS Health, we're empowering individuals and organizations to live healthier, happier lives. By combining digital innovation, data-driven insights, and deep domain expertise, we deliver industry-leading health, wellness, and absence & disability management solutions across North America.
We're growing our Absence & Disability Management (ADM) business in the U.S. and are hiring a Business Development Director to help accelerate expansion across the small to mid-market segment.

The Opportunity

As a Business Development Director, Absence & Disability Management, you will play a critical role in driving new revenue and expanding TELUS Health's presence in the U.S. market. This is a hunter-focused sales role ideal for someone passionate about growth, lead generation, and building strong client relationships in a fast-evolving health solutions landscape.

You'll be responsible for identifying new opportunities, leading complex sales cycles, and collaborating with internal subject matter experts to deliver meaningful solutions that support employee health and workplace resilience.

  • Drive lead generation and net-new opportunity creation within the U.S. small to mid-market segment
  • Own and manage the full sales cycle, including RFIs and RFPs, with support from internal subject matter experts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients and strategic partners
  • Identify and capitalize on up-sell and cross-sell opportunities across TELUS Health's broader portfolio
  • Strategically manage pipeline growth while prioritizing high-impact opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support integrated, multi-line-of-business client strategies
  • Represent TELUS Health at national sales initiatives, industry events, and client engagements

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive business development or sales experience, with demonstrated success in lead generation and opportunity management
  • Experience selling into small to mid-market organizations
  • Strong business acumen and consultative selling approach
  • Ability to create and execute strategic business development plans
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organizational skills, professional maturity, and comfort operating in a growth-driven environment

Preferred / Nice to Have (in one of the 2 noted)

  • 5+ years experience in Absence & Disability Management, group benefits, workers' compensation, occupational health, or employee health and wellbeing solutions
  • 5+ experience selling health, HR, or benefits-related solutions in the U.S. market

Location & Structure

  • Location: U.S.-based (remote)
  • Territory: Segment-based (small to mid-market), not tied to a specific geography
  • Compensation Structure: Base + variable compensation, with a strong emphasis on performance and growth outcomes

Why Work at TELUS Health

  • Retirement savings programs with company matching
  • Employee and family assistance programs
  • Flexibility to work remotely within the U.S.
