Overview
Director of Technology - Supply Chain
Catalyst Brands, LLC
Position Summary
The Director of Technology - Supply Chain is responsible for leading the technology platforms that power omnichannel fulfillment, including the ongoing stability of critical legacy applications and the implementation and optimization of a modern SaaS based Warehouse Management System (WMS).
This role is central to enabling reliable store, e commerce, and wholesale fulfillment, peak season readiness, and scalable growth. The Director will lead global teams, develop strong technical and people leaders, partner closely with business and technology stakeholders, and bring a passion for modern technologies - including AI and automation - to continuously improve speed, accuracy, and customer experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy
• Own the technology strategy and roadmap for warehouse and fulfillment systems supporting stores, e commerce, omnichannel, returns, and wholesale.
• Balance legacy system stability with progressive modernization to support evolving business models.
• Ensure technology solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned with customer experience and brand expectations.
Legacy Application Leadership
• Provide strong governance and operational leadership for legacy warehouse and logistics applications that remain critical to operations.
• Drive system reliability during peak periods (e.g., holidays, promotions, back-to-school/dorm), ensuring minimal downtime and strong incident response.
• Manage technical debt strategically, with clear plans for enhancement, coexistence, or retirement.
SaaS WMS Implementation & Optimization
• Lead large scale SaaS WMS implementations across distribution centers and fulfillment nodes.
• Partner with Operations to align system configuration with workflows such as wave optimization, inventory accuracy, store replenishment, and reverse logistics.
• Oversee post go live stabilization, user adoption, and continuous improvement to maximize ROI.
People & Talent Leadership
• Build and lead high performing global technology teams supporting supply chain systems.
• Demonstrate proven success in talent management, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
• Create clear career progression and development paths, encouraging continuous learning and technical growth.
• Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and customer centric thinking.
Financial Stewardship
• Own and manage budgets for supply chain technologies, including SaaS subscriptions, vendors, and internal labor.
• Apply strong financial acumen in business case development, cost optimization, and vendor negotiations.
• Ensure technology investments deliver measurable value to operations and the customer experience.
Innovation & Emerging Technology
• Champion the use of modern technology, including AI enabled tools, analytics, and automation to improve forecasting, throughput, labor efficiency, and system reliability.
• Stay abreast of supply chain technology trends, translating innovation into practical, scalable solutions.
• Encourage experimentation and continuous improvement while maintaining operational discipline.
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Act as a trusted partner to Operations, Supply Chain, Digital, Finance, and Enterprise Technology leaders.
• Communicate complex technical topics clearly to non technical stakeholders.
• Influence decisions through data, business insight, and a customer focused mindset.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience in Supply Chain including management of enterprise scale applications.
• Demonstrated success leading global, distributed teams.
• Proven experience implementing and supporting Supply Chain applications (Tier-1 WMS, Transportation, Labor, and Vendor Management).
• Strong background managing legacy systems alongside modernization initiatives.
• Solid financial acumen with hands on experience managing budgets, vendors, and contracts.
• Passion for technology and innovation, with practical application of emerging tools such as AI, automation, and analytics.
