POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Category Management & Strategic Analytics leads data-driven decision making across our high-growth business. 

This is a fully-remote position.


This role is responsible for transforming complex syndicated and customer data into clear, actionable insights that drive pricing strategy, innovation, category growth, and retailer success. You will partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Leadership to shape strategy, support key customer conversations, and elevate how we understand and tell our performance story. 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Retailer Strategy & Sales Support

  • Develop high-impact, insight-driven retailer presentations and sell-in materials 
  • Translate data into compelling stories that drive distribution, placement, and promotional support 
  • Equip Sales teams with clear, confident narratives for customer meetings 
  • Provide training and education to sales and marketing team for self-serve syndicated data pulls 

Strategic Analytics & Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted analytics partner to leadership, delivering regular business updates and actionable insights on category and brand performance 
  • Lead and manage recurring and ad hoc executive-level reporting to inform strategic decisions 
  • Own and evolve a dynamic category scorecard tracking performance across category, brand, and SKU levels 
  • Partner cross-functionally to support internal planning, board presentations, and external stakeholder requests 
  • Drive continuous improvement in tools, reporting, and data capabilities across the organization 

Pricing Strategy & Performance

  • Lead pricing analysis across customers, regions, and formats 
  • Monitor competitive pricing and promotion activity within fresh grocery 
  • Partner with Sales and Finance to optimize trade spend and promotional strategy 

Innovation & New Product Strategy

  • Support new product launches with data-driven insights on distribution, velocity, and growth potential 
  • Identify opportunities for expansion and inform portfolio strategy using market and customer data

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

  • 5-10 years of experience in Category Management, Sales Strategy, or Commercial Analytics within CPG 
  • Strong proficiency with multiple syndicated data providers (e.g., Nielsen, Circana, Spins, Walmart Scintilla, Kroger 8451, etc) 
  • Proven ability to influence pricing, promotion, and innovation decisions through data 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate insights into clear business recommendations 
  • 3-5 years of people management experience 
  • Experience in fresh or perimeter grocery preferred
