Job Summary:
The Director - Strategic Pursuits (DSP) is responsible to aid the RVP Strategic Relations with RailPros' business development efforts within the public agency marketplace, driving the identification, qualification, and capture of high-value opportunities aligned with the firm's core capabilities. This role develops and executes targeted growth strategies across municipal transit agencies, transportation authorities, and regional districts, cultivating executive-level relationships and expanding market share year over year. The DSP shapes and advances pursuit strategies, including RFQ/RFP responses, while partnering cross-functionally to align resources, refine service offerings, and deliver client-focused solutions. Through disciplined pipeline management, market engagement, and continuous client feedback, the DSP ensures effective positioning, sustained revenue growth, and long-term strategic expansion.
Location: This is a fully remote position. Candidates may be located anywhere within the United States.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist AVP Strategic Relations in the development and execution of market-focused growth strategies to expand RailPros' presence in light rail, commuter rail, and agency-driven markets, driving sustained revenue growth and market penetration
  • Assist AVP Strategic Relations to evaluate and shape pursuit strategy, by assessing market dynamics, competitive positioning, client drivers, and long-term brand impact within target accounts and agencies
  • Cultivate and expand strategic client relationships, in conjunction with AVP Strategic Relations, positioning RailPros as a trusted partner and increasing wallet share across services
  • Support cross-functional collaboration to align technical, operational, and commercial resources with client needs and pursuit strategies
  • Co-champion client experience and service excellence, identifying improvement opportunities and driving alignment across service delivery, communication, and technology
  • Maintain strong market visibility through active participation in industry events, client meetings, job sites, and agency engagements to promote brand presence and generate new business
  • Assist AVP Strategic Relations in the development and support of marketing and outreach strategies, including campaigns, messaging, and client-facing materials that strengthen positioning and drive engagement
  • Leverage CRM and enterprise systems (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite, ProjectWise) to drive pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and business development performance
  • Proactive participation with issue resolution and client advocacy efforts, ensuring concerns are addressed with urgency and professionalism to protect and strengthen client relationships
  • Manage multiple pursuits and priorities with discipline, aligning execution with broader strategic growth objectives
  • Champion a collaborative, high-performance culture, fostering teamwork and accountability across internal and external stakeholders
  • This position does involve travel to the extent determined by market forces, state of the economy and client needs
  • Away from home-office travel beyond 10 days in a calendar month is not expected
  • As required and/or requested, travel to RailPros headquarters, field offices or client offices, work sites and other project-related locations may be required with limited advanced notice

Required Education and Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years' direct experience working in the Transit or Commuter Rail Transportation Industry
  • Solid background or work history in working on Transportation Agency business planning and RFPs as well as a solid background in serving a primary role covering Program Management and/or Project Execution
  • Ability to find, analyze, and comprehend RFQ's, RFP's and other documents that provide details on current and/or upcoming work for a subject client
  • Ability to understand and proof-read documentation and support documentation related to deliverables including but not limited to scope, fee, timelines, proposal content, and team descriptions
