Director of Human Resources

About the Role

We are working with a client seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources for a full-time, direct hire opportunity. This is a fully remote position open to candidates across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, learning and development, and HR compliance
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing counsel on organizational design, workforce planning, and people strategy
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve HR policies, programs, and processes that support business objectives and a strong company culture
  • Lead the full-cycle recruiting function and ensure the organization attracts, hires, and retains top talent
  • Manage employee relations matters including performance issues, investigations, and separations with professionalism and sound judgment
  • Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness, equity, and compliance
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and champion a positive, inclusive workplace culture
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Develop and present HR metrics, analytics, and dashboards to senior leadership
  • Build, lead, and develop the HR team
  • Partner with legal counsel on employment matters, labor relations, and regulatory compliance
  • Support organizational change management initiatives and cultural transformation efforts

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years in a senior HR leadership role
  • Deep knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and best practices across federal and state jurisdictions
  • Proven experience as a strategic HR business partner to senior leadership
  • Strong background across core HR disciplines — talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and performance management
  • Experience building and leading HR teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use HR data to drive decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms — Workday, BambooHR, ADP, or similar
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fully remote environment

  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent senior HR certification
