Responsibilities & Expectations: 

IPS is looking for a driven, connected, and technically grounded Business Development Manager to lead data center growth across the. This high-visibility role sits at the intersection of sales strategy, customer relationships, and technical solutioning. Ideal for someone who knows the market, has the credibility to open doors, and the instincts to close deals. You will identify and develop new business opportunities, coordinate strategy across functional teams, lead proposal efforts, and build the customer and channel partnerships that drive IPS Power Management forward.

• Support the development and execution of a targeted go-to-market plan for IPS Power Management solutions within the data center segment

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the data center sector

• Generate new prospects through networking, industry events, cold outreach, and company-sponsored lead generation programs

• Analyze RFQs and coordinate the preparation of proposals, including commercial and technical specifications, to develop effective, accurate, and professional responses

• Provide technical guidance on end-to-end power management solutions including switchgear (LV/MV/HV), transformers, UPS, generators, and associated field services.

• Represent IPS at trade shows, industry conferences, and customer events to build brand awareness and foster new business opportunities

• Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and market shifts to continuously refine IPS’s value proposition

• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and product teams to deliver tailored solutions

• Follow up on wins and losses to understand why IPS was or was not selected and apply those learnings

• Maintain an active, visible presence in the industry and grow IPS’s reputation in the data center space

Qualifications and Competencies: 

At least 10 years of relevant work experience in the Power Management industry with at least 7 years of direct sales experience

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred

• Experience in Power Management or electrical infrastructure sales, with a strong track record of closing complex, high-value B2B deals

• Data center market experience: you understand how hyperscalers, colocation, enterprise and edge deployments buy, who influences decisions, and what drives value

• Proven success in consultative sales and new business development: from uncovering opportunities and qualifying budgets to building cost-justification cases and hitting revenue goals

• Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies in the mission-critical or industrial infrastructure space

• Proficiency with CRM tools to manage pipeline, track deals, and keep teams aligned

• A strong self-starter who thrives working autonomously from a home office with high travel demands (estimated 50–60%)

• A genuine relationship builder and clear communicator: you listen first, ask smart questions, and can command a room whether you're presenting to the C-suite or walking a plant floor.

 Pay Rate Details: $140,000 - $160,000 a Year
