About the Position

We are seeking a Director of Development Mission Critical to drive business development and growth within the rapidly expanding data center and mission critical construction market.

This position will identify new opportunities, build and maintain strategic client relationships, and work closely with preconstruction and operations teams to secure and successfully transition new work.

The Director will serve as a key leader in developing the company's mission critical market strategy and sales pipeline, connecting clients, design teams, regional operations, and internal resources to create solutions and secure new business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and targeted outreach.
  • Develop relationships with data center end users, customers, design teams, and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Manage and advance opportunities through the sales and preconstruction process.
  • Support strategic sales efforts, pipeline management, CRM activity, proposals, and presentations.
  • Lead and coordinate design-build and design-assist pursuits, including scope, assumptions, and clarifications.
  • Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams to develop competitive, low-risk solutions.
  • Work closely with operations to ensure effective project turnover and continuity from pursuit through execution.
  • Develop strategies to address customer challenges and differentiate the company in the mission critical market.
  • Stay current on data center construction trends, market opportunities, and evolving customer requirements.
  • Conduct client meetings, understand customer needs, and present tailored solutions.
  • Build strategic partnerships and connect regional teams with appropriate clients and market partners.
  • Contribute to long-term revenue growth and expansion within the mission critical sector.

Requirements

  • 1015+ years of construction industry experience, with significant experience in business development, project development, preconstruction, and/or execution of large-scale projects.
  • Strong experience in mission critical, data center, concrete construction, or similarly complex construction markets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven success identifying new opportunities and securing strategic relationships and partnerships.
  • Experience with strategic planning, project development, preconstruction, and cross-functional team leadership.
  • Strong understanding of risk management and project delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions for complex customer and project requirements.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
