We are seeking a highly skilled professional with significant experience in the medical device sector to join our dynamic and empowered Business Development team as Director, Business Development. This remote role is primarily based on the East Coast of the United States, with consideration for candidates in the Central time zone as a fallback option.

This position is focused on contracting manufacturing and high-level assembly of medical devices as a service, playing a key role in driving innovative business models within the healthcare technology market. As a member of our highly motivated team, the successful candidate will contribute to both individual and collective success by:

This position reports to our Head of Business development for Health Solutions Medical Devices and Drug-Delivery USA-EMEA. In this role, you will be in-charge of qualifying new customers, developing relationship and business with them, achieving pipeline and bookings results according to assigned unipersonal and team targets. The focus is on opening up opportunities in the Medical Device OEM space.

What a Typical Day Looks Like:

  • Lead efforts to secure and manage contracts for medical devices manufacturing as a service to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).

  • Drive new business growth and meeting defined bookings targets.

  • Generate and maintain a high-quality pipeline with targeted enterprise accounts based across the USA.

  • Collaborate within a team that values initiative, empowerment, and a shared commitment to delivering results.

  • Apply deep expertise in medical device business development, regulatory 138485 ISO compliance, and industry best practices.

  • Develop new strategic alliances with key B2B customers in the Medical Device space.

  • Research and recognize customers' business strategy, future product plans, and expansion activities and align Flex resources were mutually beneficial.

  • Be point of contact for showcasing Flex' Capabilities within the Medical Device an EMS Partner of Choice.

  • Implement a results-oriented strategy that delivers value to both customers and shareholders, while consistently surpassing competitors.

  • Assist current accounts in the development and execution of product roadmaps and act as a focal point in delivering Flex's solutions which include concept development, industrial design, manufacturing, supply chain/logistics, services hold up and reverse logistics.

  • Hold up senior management regarding managing and evaluating key personnel and in terms of talent acquisition to provide further potential to business resources.

The Experience We're Looking to Add to Our Team:

  • Proven experience selling manufacturing services related to complex Medical Devices in the US market.

  • 7+ years of progressively advancing account management and/or business development experience.

  • Extensive and up-to-date network of principal stakeholders within the top 15 original equipment manufacturers in the medical device industry.

  • Experience, technical expertise, and commercial insight in: Cardiovascular & neuro, diabetes & monitoring, minimally invasive surgical systems, hearing & vision, wound care & surgical.

  • Outstanding negotiation and influence skills

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences, or business.

  • Ability to work with internal teams and executive management as well as external customers to maximize mutual benefit.

  • Experience in the EMS / CMO / engineering business environment.

  • Ability to successfully influence senior level management, executives, and key clients.

  • Demonstrated history of generating pipeline and successfully closing deals exceeding 25 million USD.

  • Open to 30% travel.
