Remote Digital Asset information

What is a remote digital asset?

Remote Digital Asset jobs involve managing, creating, organizing, or securing digital files and resources such as images, videos, documents, and cryptocurrencies from a remote location. These roles can include digital asset managers, digital archivists, NFT specialists, and blockchain analysts, among others. The main focus is to ensure that digital assets are easily accessible, properly cataloged, and safely stored or transferred online. Remote positions in this field allow professionals to work from anywhere while handling assets for organizations, marketing teams, or tech companies.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a remote digital asset manager?

To thrive as a Remote Digital Asset Manager, you need expertise in digital asset management (DAM) principles, file organization, metadata standards, and a background in information science or a related field. Familiarity with DAM software (like Bynder or Adobe Experience Manager), cloud storage solutions, and digital rights management tools is typically required. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and problem-solving skills help you manage assets efficiently and collaborate across distributed teams. These skills ensure digital content is accurately stored, easily accessible, and securely managed, which is crucial for organizational productivity and brand consistency.

What are common challenges faced when managing digital assets remotely, and how can they be overcome?

One common challenge in a remote digital asset role is ensuring secure, organized, and efficient access to files across distributed teams. Miscommunication, version control issues, and inconsistent file naming are frequent hurdles. These can be overcome by using centralized digital asset management (DAM) platforms, establishing clear protocols, and maintaining regular communication with team members. Staying proactive about documentation and leveraging collaborative tools helps ensure assets remain accessible and up-to-date for everyone involved.

About Switch

At Switch, we don’t just design, build and operate data centers—we are enabling the technology of the future. Led by Founder & CEO, Rob Roy, we believe in revolutionary innovation, operational excellence and the principle of karma. Switch is where talented people come together to EVOLVE the digital world.

We believe that innovation isn’t just about technology—it’s about the people, culture, and purpose that make it happen. Every Switch team member contributes to a mission greater than themselves: to create the world’s most advanced digital infrastructure that powers the progress of humanity.

The Role: Maintenance Program Planner

As a Maintenance Program Planner within Reliability Engineering, you will support the planning, scheduling, and documentation of maintenance activities for mission-critical data center infrastructure. This role exists to ensure maintenance programs are executed in alignment with Switch Maintenance Policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with Facilities Operations and approved vendors to maintain accurate records, monitor compliance, and support uptime across all critical systems.

What You’ll Do
  • Plan and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for critical infrastructure systems.

  • Ensure maintenance programs comply with Switch policies, OSHA, and applicable regulations.

  • Collaborate with Facilities Operations to align maintenance schedules with operational requirements.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records within the CMMS, including work orders, asset data, and service documentation.

  • Manage vendor documentation to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.

  • Verify vendors are authorized and meet required orientation and safety protocols.

  • Track maintenance budgets and support cost analysis reporting.

  • Support audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.

  • Identify maintenance trends and recommend process improvements.

  • Support predictive maintenance and reliability initiatives.

What We’re Looking For
  • You maintain accuracy in documentation and scheduling.

  • You anticipate maintenance gaps before they impact uptime.

  • You follow safety and compliance standards consistently.

  • You communicate clearly with operations teams and vendors.

  • You stay organized in fast-paced, high-availability environments.

  • You take initiative to improve workflows and reduce inefficiencies.

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in critical facilities, data center, utilities, or industrial maintenance environments.

  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, UPS, and generator systems.

  • Experience using CMMS platforms and maintaining maintenance documentation.

  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and system schematics.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Management, Technology, Facilities, or related field.

  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory inspections.

  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance programs.

We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every preferred qualification.
