Summary

The Senior Industrial Maintenance, Reliability & Condition Monitoring Consultant helps asset-intensive organizations improve safety, availability, reliability, and lifecycle cost. This permanent employment opportunity, is a  client-facing role that combines maintenance and reliability expertise with modern technology, data analysis, and change leadership to assess current performance, define improvement roadmaps, and build business cases that deliver measurable value.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead maintenance, reliability, and condition monitoring engagements from assessment through implementation and value realization.
  • Perform current-state and gap assessments covering governance, work processes, asset strategies, workforce capability, data, systems, technology, and performance.
  • Benchmark practices, identify risks and opportunities, and develop prioritized multi-year roadmaps with quick wins, pilots, implementation sequencing, change management, and benefit tracking.
  • Build business cases and ROI models using downtime, production impact, maintenance cost, risk reduction, lifecycle value, implementation cost, payback, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Develop and optimize asset criticality, RCM, FMEA, preventive and risk-based maintenance, root cause analysis, defect elimination, planning, scheduling, and work execution practices.
  • Design and improve condition monitoring programs for rotating, fixed, instrumentation, electrical, and process assets.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops, establish governance and performance measures, coach client teams, and deliver clear executive recommendations.
Modern Technology & Digital Reliability
  • Advise on fit-for-purpose use of CMMS/EAM, asset performance management, mobile work management, and integrated reliability workflows.
  • Assess asset hierarchy, master data, failure coding, work history, data quality, and system integration readiness.
  • Develop practical use cases for IIoT sensors, wireless monitoring, historians, dashboards, analytics, AI, machine learning, digital twins, remote support, and connected-worker tools.
  • Integrate condition monitoring technologies across various asset classes (rotating, static, instrumentation, electrical, etc.) into maintenance decision-making.
  • Evaluate and pilot technologies based on operational value, interoperability, scalability, cybersecurity, governance, adoption, and total cost of ownership.
  • Ensure analytical alerts and AI recommendations include clear ownership, human validation, work initiation, feedback, and performance review.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Degree or technical diploma in engineering, technology, maintenance, reliability, or a related field.
  • 10 or more years of industrial maintenance, reliability, condition monitoring, asset management, or operational improvement experience.
  • Experience as a Maintenance, Reliability or Operations Manager is an asset.
  • Demonstrated success in consulting, current-state and gap assessments, roadmap development, implementation planning, and business case or ROI development.
  • Hands-on knowledge of condition monitoring and failure analysis across relevant industrial asset classes.
  • Experience with CMMS/EAM, asset performance management, historians, visualization, analytics, or related platforms.
  • Professional or technical certifications such as P.Eng., CMRP, CRL, MMP, vibration, thermography, lubrication, or asset management are preferred.
  • Experience in asset-intensive industries and willingness to travel to client and industrial sites.
