Work Environment

As a remote mental health counselor, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes case managers, psychiatrists, and fellow therapists. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to determine each client's mental health needs. Document findings accurately to inform the development of personalized treatment plans.
• Provide a range of evidence-based therapy services, including individual, group, and family therapy. Utilize therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) depending on the client's unique situation.
• Collaborate effectively with case managers and psychiatrists to coordinate a holistic approach to client care, ensuring that all aspects of their mental health are addressed.
• Offer crisis intervention and support during emergency situations, equipped to manage acute distress and provide immediate assistance as needed.
• Participate in community outreach efforts aimed at raising mental health awareness and reducing stigma in the Peoria area.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our Mental Health Counselor will serve a varied client base that includes individuals facing conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and other psychological challenges. Many of our clients come from underserved communities, making it imperative to deliver culturally competent care that is accessible and effective.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
• A master’s degree or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building rapport and establishing strong therapeutic relationships with clients.
• Cultural competence and sensitivity to work effectively with clients from various backgrounds and life experiences.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, particularly regarding documentation and case management workflows.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working in a community health setting or with diverse populations is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in telehealth platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and credentials.
