What is a remote desk?

A Remote Desk job refers to a position where employees perform their duties from a location outside the traditional office environment, typically from home or another remote location. These roles often involve using computers and internet-based tools to communicate, collaborate, and complete tasks. Remote Desk jobs can range across various industries, including customer service, IT support, administration, and more. This setup allows for greater flexibility, work-life balance, and the ability to work with teams across different geographical locations.

How does a remote desk role typically collaborate with other team members and departments?

In a Remote Desk position, collaboration is primarily facilitated through digital communication tools such as email, instant messaging, and video conferencing. Regular virtual meetings and project management platforms help ensure alignment and transparency across teams. Since you may not have face-to-face interactions, proactive communication and strong documentation are key to keeping projects on track and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues from various departments. Additionally, many organizations encourage remote desk employees to participate in virtual team-building activities to foster a sense of connection.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote desk specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Desktop Support Specialist, you need strong technical troubleshooting skills, a solid understanding of operating systems, networking fundamentals, and typically an associate degree or relevant certifications like CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate. Familiarity with remote access tools such as TeamViewer, Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), and ticketing systems is crucial. Excellent communication, patience, and problem-solving abilities help you guide users and resolve issues efficiently. These skills ensure prompt, effective technical support and customer satisfaction, which are vital for minimizing downtime and maintaining business productivity.

COMPENSATION: $40,000 Baseline Salary + Aggressive Uncapped Commission Structure (Year 1 Realistic: $65,000 – $90,000+ | Established Desk: $100,000 – $120,000+)

ADVANTAGE: Step directly into an active, warm Wisconsin manufacturing territory with hundreds of established prospect accounts on Day 1

LOCATION POLICY: Hybrid schedule — Tuesday through Thursday in our Brookfield office, with Monday and Friday remote. Energetic, highly collaborative team environment (Must reside within ~20 minutes of the office)

EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND: 1+ years of professional sales, B2B development, or high-activity customer-facing experience (Automotive, cellular, retail sales, inside sales, or memberships)

THE RECRUITING MYTH: Zero prior recruiting experience required! We provide comprehensive hands-on training and daily mentorship from 30+ year industry veterans

BENEFITS & PERKS: Retirement savings plan with company match, paid time off, paid holidays, and a supportive, high-accountability team environment

REQUIREMENTS: US Citizen or Green Card holder; strong phone comfort, resilience, and desire to build a long-term six-figure career

If you are a motivated sales professional looking to leverage your relationship-building drive into a lucrative, long-term business-to-business career, this is an exceptional opportunity to build something of your own within an established company. At Impact Solutions, we have spent over 30 years embedding ourselves as trusted talent partners for premier manufacturing and engineering firms across Wisconsin.

You will not be starting from scratch or cold-calling into the void. We are hiring a Full Desk Recruiter to take over an active, warm territory with hundreds of established local manufacturing prospects, proven sourcing systems, and a massive candidate database. Rather than spending your first year trying to build a market from zero, you will receive hands-on mentorship while turning an active market into consistent placements and long-term client partnerships.

What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)

  • Master Full Desk Methodology: Complete comprehensive, hands-on training covering advanced headhunting tactics, client development, and cloud-based ATS operations.
  • Take Over and Grow an Active Territory: Prospect, connect, and build relationships with executives, plant managers, and engineering leaders across established Wisconsin manufacturing accounts.
  • Conduct High-Volume Outbound Outreach: Execute consistent, targeted phone outreach to corporate decision-makers and high-caliber passive technical candidates.
  • Drive End-to-End Placement Cycles: Manage the complete recruitment lifecycle—sourcing candidates, vetting technical talent, coordinating interviews, managing feedback, and closing job offers.
  • Deliver Consultative Pitching: Present compelling verbal marketing messages that cut through the noise and win new client relationships and recruiting opportunities.
  • Build Long-Term Business Value: Build a personal book of business within Impact Solutions that grows in value and income year after year.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)

  • Proven Sales Drive: 1+ years of verifiable success in target-driven, commission-heavy, or high-activity sales environments (automotive, cellular, retail, wireless, or inside sales).
  • Strong Phone Presence: Complete comfort making daily outbound calls, opening new conversations, and confidently building rapport with corporate executives.
  • Mental Resilience: A competitive, goal-oriented mindset with the resilience to handle rejection, learn from it, and keep moving forward.
  • Relationship Builder: Natural ability to listen, establish rapid authority, and build lasting trust with hiring managers and technical professionals.
  • Proximity & Work Ethic: A solid work history showing long-term commitment, and local residence within approximately 20 minutes of our Brookfield, WI office.
  • Work Authorization: Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder (no relocation assistance available).
