Remote Demand Forecasting information

What is remote demand forecasting?

Remote demand forecasting is the process of predicting future customer demand for products or services using statistical analysis, machine learning, and historical data, all done from a remote location. Professionals in this field use specialized software and tools to collect and analyze data, create forecasting models, and communicate findings to stakeholders without being physically present at a company’s office. This approach allows organizations to make informed decisions about inventory, staffing, and production while leveraging remote talent and technology.

How does a remote demand forecasting specialist typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve forecast accuracy?

As a remote demand forecasting specialist, collaboration with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance is essential to enhance the accuracy of forecasts. This is usually achieved through regular virtual meetings, shared data dashboards, and collaborative forecasting tools that allow for transparent communication and timely updates. Building strong relationships and maintaining open channels for feedback helps ensure that all relevant market trends, promotions, and external factors are considered in the forecasting process. Effective communication skills and proactivity in seeking input from various departments are key to success in this remote role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote demand forecasting, and why are they important?

To thrive in Remote Demand Forecasting, you need strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of statistics and data analysis, and typically a degree in business, mathematics, or a related field. Proficiency in forecasting software (such as SAP IBP, Oracle Demantra, or Microsoft Excel), data visualization tools, and sometimes certifications in supply chain or analytics are common requirements. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities help you interpret data trends and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. These skills and qualifications are essential for producing accurate forecasts, optimizing inventory, and supporting informed business decisions in a remote environment.

Job description

ABOUT US

We're building the financial backbone for the most ambitious consumer brands in the country. Our firm combines McKinsey-level strategy, Big Four precision, and founder-grade hustle to serve e-commerce and CPG companies from startup to scale, and from zero to exit.

We strike the right balance between traditional accounting and embedded partnership. We work inside our clients' businesses, providing not just financial clarity but operational firepower to move fast, stay lean, and grow with confidence.

If you're looking to do the best work of your career — surrounded by smart, motivated, kind people — we'd love to meet you.

THE ROLE

We’re hiring a full-time Client CFO (Director) to serve as a fractional CFO to a portfolio of consumer brands across e-commerce, retail, and CPG. This is a high-impact, multi-client leadership role for someone equally comfortable in Excel, on investor calls, and in the boardroom.

You will lead financial strategy, advisory and FP&A for multiple brands. Owning forecasting, modeling, capital planning, and strategic decision support. But beyond that, we want a builder: someone who improves how the work gets done through better systems, templates, and automation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Lead Client Finance (Fractional CFO)

  • Serve as Client CFO (fractional) for a portfolio of clients and brands.

  • Own all FP&A efforts, including budgeting, cash runway, forecasting, and board reporting

  • Act as a strategic partner to founders, CEOs, and investors; turning data into business decisions

  • Manage banking, credit, investor, and board relationships with polish and confidence

2. Own Modeling, Forecasting, and Financial Clarity

  • Build and maintain dynamic 1/3/5-year financial models

  • Drive rolling forecasts, margin analysis, scenario planning, and demand planning

  • Build KPI dashboards and reporting systems for executive teams

  • Review reconciliation data with our internal accounting team and ensure reporting integrity

3. Strategic Advisory + Capital Markets Support

  • Advise clients on fundraising, M&A, debt strategy, and capital allocation

  • Support and own credit packs and operate as “deal time CFO” when needed

  • Support board material prep and investor communications when needed

  • Provide decision frameworks to help clients navigate growth, burn, and tradeoffs

4. Workflow Optimization + Systems Thinking

  • Templatize, automate, and scale recurring work

  • Use tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Gsheets, and Zapier to deliver faster and smarter

  • Document SOPs and drive internal improvements to our client delivery engine

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong experience in finance leadership roles (past experience in a multi-client role is required).

  • Deep understanding of consumer business models (DTC, retail, omnichannel, wholesale)

  • Strong FP&A and modeling skills, with experience in budgeting, building multi-year 3-statement modeling, and operational forecasting

  • Experience with accounting systems (QBO, NetSuite)

  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and communicate with confidence

  • Experience working with executive teams and board-level stakeholders

  • Comfortable managing multiple client relationships in a fast-paced environment

  • Bonus: strong experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) or automation tools (Zapier, Notion, Airtable)

  • Thrives in a lean, high-performance, distributed team

WHAT YOU’LL LOVE

  • High-impact, high-autonomy role advising category-defining brands

  • Small, elite team where your work drives real outcomes

  • Remote-first culture with deep collaboration and zero bureaucracy

  • A fast-growing firm that rewards performance, not pedigree

  • High comp upside based on book of business performance
