Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to accurately evaluate the psychological needs of students, resulting in well-defined and individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based therapy modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to address a range of mental health issues faced by students, including anxiety, depression, and behavioral problems.
  • Coordinate with educators, school psychologists, and parents to ensure integrated and holistic care for students, contributing to their academic success and emotional resilience.
  • Offer crisis intervention services during times of acute emotional distress, providing immediate support and guidance to students in emergencies.
  • Engage in community outreach initiatives and workshops aimed at promoting mental wellness and reducing stigma associated with mental health discussions within schools.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor at Health Link Now Wellness Clinic, you will work primarily with children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds. Your expertise will enable you to connect with students experiencing a variety of mental health challenges, ensuring that they receive the personalized care that fosters their growth and development.

Qualifications
  • An active and independent license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of developing trust-based relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Cultural competence, with the ability to connect with and understand clients from a variety of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational capabilities to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within our electronic health record system.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with children or adolescents in a therapeutic setting, ideally within the education system.
  • Experience with electronic health record management and telehealth platform navigation.
  • Background in developing and implementing school-based mental health programs.
