Remote Deep Sea Mining information

What is remote deep sea mining?

Remote deep sea mining is the process of extracting valuable minerals and metals from the ocean floor using unmanned or remotely operated vehicles. These operations are typically conducted at great depths, often thousands of meters below the surface, where direct human involvement is not possible due to extreme conditions. The technology allows operators to control equipment from ships or onshore facilities, making it a safer and more efficient way to access underwater resources. Remote deep sea mining is used to obtain materials like manganese nodules, cobalt, nickel, and rare earth elements, which are essential for modern electronics and renewable energy technologies.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote deep sea mining?

To excel in Remote Deep Sea Mining, a strong background in marine engineering, geology, or a related technical field is essential, often supported by relevant degrees and industry certifications. Familiarity with remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), subsea robotics, GIS mapping software, and safety management systems is typically required. Excellent problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and effective teamwork skills help professionals navigate challenging underwater environments and coordinate complex operations. These competencies are crucial to ensure safe, efficient extraction of resources while minimizing environmental impact and maintaining team safety.

How do remote deep sea mining professionals collaborate with onshore teams and ensure effective communication during operations?

Remote deep sea mining professionals often work closely with multidisciplinary onshore teams, including engineers, geologists, and environmental scientists. Effective collaboration is facilitated through scheduled video conferences, real-time data sharing platforms, and specialized remote operation software. Regular communication is crucial to address technical challenges, adapt to changing environmental conditions, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards. Maintaining clear documentation and open channels for feedback also helps align offshore and onshore objectives, ensuring smooth operations.

What is the difference between Remote Deep Sea Mining vs Remote Marine Geologist?

Work EnvironmentOffshore, underwater equipment, remote operationsOffice or field-based, research vessels, data analysis
Industry UsageMining companies, resource extractionResearch institutions, environmental agencies

Remote Deep Sea Mining involves extracting mineral resources from the ocean floor using specialized equipment, often in remote underwater locations. Remote Marine Geologists focus on studying ocean floors, sediments, and marine environments through research and data analysis. While both roles require knowledge of marine environments, Remote Deep Sea Mining emphasizes engineering and operational skills, whereas Remote Marine Geologists concentrate on scientific research and environmental assessment.

Our client is building a firm designed around modern AI capabilities—where AI handles as much heavy lifting as possible, and human judgment is applied where it matters most.
Our established client will launch an AI-native, full-service tax preparation firm and is looking to hire a  Founding Tax Professional (CPA or EA) to partner directly with the executive leadership team.
Responsibilities:
Phase 1:
  • Partner with the executive team to build the legal, business, and operational structures of the tax practice.
  • Serve as the Responsible Official on the firm’s EFIN application; build out IRC §7216 consent flows, FTC Safeguards Rule compliance, state registrations, and data security standards.
  •  Write the SOPs for intake, workpapers, review standards, e-file procedures, and client communication.
  • Collaborate with engineering and AI teams to design and define where AI executes, where humans verify, and how quality is measured.
Phase 2:
  • Prepare, review, and sign complex individual returns (1040s with crypto activity, Schedule C self-employment, K-1s, and multi-state filings).
  • Hold signing authority as the paid preparer on client returns.
  • Oversee client communication and drive an exceptional, high-tech client experience.
  • Continuously feed operational insights back to the AI/engineering pipeline to optimize future return automation.

  • Crypto Tax Knowledge: Solid working understanding of cryptocurrency reporting (capital gains/losses, cost basis methodologies, staking/mining income, and resolving messy exchange/on-chain data).
  • AI Tool Fluency: Active, daily usage of modern AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, or LLM-assisted workflows) in your professional or personal work.
  • Location: Must be based in the United States.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary paired with ground-floor economic upside/equity in a new business unit backed by a large built-in client base (100,000+ warm leads).
  • Fully remote work setup with flexible modern operations.
  • Full health coverage.
  • Mentorship and daily collaboration with the platform's founding and executive team.
