Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst / Data Steward to support data inventory, profiling, lineage, quality, and documentation initiatives across multiple source systems and cloud/Databricks environments. The ideal candidate will work closely with Data Architects, Data Modelers, Engineers, database SMEs, and business stakeholders to support Bronze Layer readiness and future-state data design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory and analyze metadata and source data across databases.
  • Document data lineage, source-to-target mappings, data movement, controls, and reporting dependencies.
  • Compare data elements across systems to identify common fields, differences, and normalization needs.
  • Identify data gaps, quality issues, missing attributes, control gaps, and reconciliation requirements.
  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries, business definitions, naming conventions, and data rules.
  • Compare source data with existing cloud/Databricks data.
  • Collaborate with technical and business SMEs to support data design and governance.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in data analysis, data stewardship, data profiling, metadata management, and reconciliation.
  • Strong experience with data dictionaries, source-to-target mapping, and data lineage.
  • Experience working with Databricks/cloud data environments preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Actuarial, insurance, financial services, or valuation experience is highly preferred.
