Job description

Sales Operations Director

Commercial Strategy, Field Effectiveness & Revenue Operations
Remote/Field-Based | National Travel Required

Build the Commercial Engine Behind Growth

Catalyst OrthoScience is looking for a strategic, hands-on Sales Operations leader who understands the realities of Orthopedic selling and knows how to turn commercial strategy into disciplined execution.

This is not simply a reporting or CRM administration role. As Sales Operations Director, you will serve as a key strategic partner to our Chief Commercial Officer, Vice President of Sales, and commercial leadership team. You will build the processes, analytics, systems, and operating rhythms that help our field organization and independent distributor network grow more efficiently and predictably.

You will bring clarity to performance, strengthen forecasting, improve distributor and territory effectiveness, optimize surgical inventory, and remove administrative friction so our commercial teams can spend more time serving customers and growing the business.

What You’ll Lead
  • Translate commercial objectives into actionable territory, distributor, account, surgeon, and product-level plans.

  • Strengthen forecasting and provide early visibility into revenue opportunities, performance gaps, and commercial risks.

  • Build meaningful dashboards and executive-level reporting that turn data into clear business action.

  • Improve distributor performance, territory execution, pipeline discipline, and accountability.

  • Own and continuously improve the commercial sales process, CRM strategy, data standards, and technology adoption.

  • Partner with Sales and Operations to improve surgical inventory utilization, tray turns, redeployment, and case coverage.

  • Build the infrastructure needed to activate strategic hospital and ASC opportunities and drive measurable pull-through.

  • Support incentive design, territory planning, quota setting, pricing analysis, product launches, and commercial programs.

  • Simplify workflows and automate routine reporting to reduce the administrative burden on the field.

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives involving Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Clinical Education, Product Strategy, Quality, and IT.

What You Bring
  • Several years (outstanding track record) of progressive commercial experience in orthopedics or surgical devices, including at least five years in Sales Operations, Commercial Operations, Sales Effectiveness, Business Analytics, or a related leadership role.

  • Direct experience with orthopedic implants. Shoulder, upper extremity, or total joint experience is strongly valued.

  • A strong understanding of independent distributor models, surgeon conversion, hospital and ASC selling, contracting, case support, and product utilization.

  • Demonstrated success improving forecasting, commercial analytics, CRM adoption, performance management, and sales processes.

  • The ability to translate complex information into clear insights, recommendations, and action.

  • Strong executive communication skills and the ability to influence across functions without relying on formal authority.

  • A builder’s mindset and the willingness to remain hands-on in a growth-stage environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, analytics, marketing, healthcare, or a related field.

  • Ability to travel nationally as business needs require.

Experience with ASC market dynamics, strategic account activation, incentive compensation, pricing analytics, territory design, or product launches is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

You will help Catalyst create a more focused, accountable, and scalable commercial organization. Success means better forecasting, stronger distributor and territory performance, improved surgical inventory productivity, faster account activation, less administrative burden on the field, and decision-ready insight for commercial and executive leadership.

At Catalyst, how we achieve results matters. Our team is guided by six core values: People in Action, Integrity Always, Clear & Courageous Communication, Excellence in Execution, Surgeon & Patient Focus, and Innovation.

If you know orthopedic sales, enjoy building what comes next, and want to help shape the commercial infrastructure of a growing medical device company, we would like to hear from you.

Catalyst OrthoScience is an equal opportunity employer.
