Job description

Department Name:

IT Tech Solution Arch-Corp

Work Shift:

Job Category:

Information Technology

Banner Health was named to Fortune’s Most Innovative Companies in America 2025 list for the third consecutive year and named to Newsweek's list of Most Trustworthy Companies in America for the second year in a row. We’re proud to be recognized for our commitment to the latest health care advancements and excellent patient care.

Banner Health's Data Platform Team is building the modern data platform that runs on Databricks and AWS, supporting everything from claims and clinical data to population health analytics and AI-enabled by data. We're looking for a Data Architect to lead Databricks solution architecture end to end — designing PHI-compliant data patterns, defining the architectural standards for how data moves from Bronze through Gold and how entity resolution and claims data get handled, and partnering with enterprise and cloud architecture teams to make sure what we build fits inside Banner's broader security posture. You'll be the person in the room when a new data pattern needs a PHI-safe design, and the person who can explain why it's built that way to both a cloud architect and a compliance reviewer. You define the patterns and standards — engineering teams build against them.

This isn't a design-and-hand-off role. You'll work directly with analytics leaders to translate platform capabilities into terms they can act on, and you'll work directly with data engineers on coding standards, CI/CD practices, and Gold-layer development patterns — teaching the practices, not just documenting them. If you can move between an architecture review with enterprise architects and a working session teaching an analytics team how to build a compliant Gold pipeline, and you understand both the technical and healthcare-data complexity underneath each, this is the role. This is a remote position. In this role you would work Monday through Friday normal business hours 8am - 5pm AZ time zone and can be a remote position if you live in the following states only: AL, AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, WV & WY.

Your pay and benefits (Total Rewards) are important components of your Journey at Banner Health. Banner Health offers a variety of benefit plans to help you and your family. We provide health and financial security options, so you can focus on being the best at what you do and enjoying your life.

Within Banner Health Corporate, you will have the opportunity to apply your unique experience and expertise in support of a nationally-recognized healthcare leader. We offer stimulating and rewarding careers in a wide array of disciplines. Whether your background is in Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Legal, Managed Care Programs or Public Relations, you'll find many options for contributing to our award-winning patient care.
