Job description

The Role

At CompanyCam, the Editor at Large produces our most ambitious thought leadership content-work that earns attention because it advances the thinking of the construction industry, not because it promotes a product. Reporting to the Director of Marketing Strategy, this senior individual contributor will combine journalistic rigor, original research, and editorial excellence to create flagship content that establishes CompanyCam as a category leader.

You'll produce premium, insight-driven content for mid-market and enterprise audiences while partnering closely with Marketing Strategy, Market Analytics, and subject matter experts to uncover meaningful industry insights. If you're passionate about telling compelling stories backed by research and data-and enjoy creating content people genuinely want to read and share-we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do
  • Research, write, and publish premium thought leadership including white papers, ebooks, benchmark reports, case studies, and webinar content
  • Conduct interviews with customers, industry experts, and internal stakeholders to develop original insights and compelling narratives
  • Partner with Market Analytics to translate proprietary research and data into engaging, data-backed content
  • Develop thought leadership focused on the challenges and opportunities facing mid-market and enterprise customers
  • Support Account-Based Experience (ABX) initiatives through the creation of high-value content offers
  • Collaborate with the Content team to repurpose flagship content across multiple channels and campaigns
  • Leverage AI to improve research, drafting, editing, and content development while maintaining an authentic editorial voice
  • Maintain exceptional editorial standards, ensuring every piece is accurate, insightful, and worth sharing

  • Create flagship thought leadership content that positions CompanyCam as a category leader
  • Produce original research and insights that inform and influence mid-market and enterprise audiences
  • Develop premium content assets that fuel marketing campaigns, sales conversations, and account-based strategies
  • Partner across Marketing, Analytics, and business leaders to transform complex data into compelling narratives
  • Establish a high editorial standard that elevates the quality and impact of CompanyCam's content
What You'll Bring
  • 5-8 years of experience in journalism, editorial, long-form content, or thought leadership, with a journalism background strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to research, interview, and write compelling long-form content supported by original research and credible sources
  • Experience translating complex market data, surveys, or research into engaging business narratives
  • Expertise creating premium B2B content such as white papers, benchmark reports, ebooks, and case studies
  • Experience contributing to or leading original research projects, including surveys and customer interviews
  • Strong interviewing, storytelling, and editorial judgment with an ability to uncover meaningful insights
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution while managing multiple large-scale content projects
  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate research and content development while maintaining human-led thinking and editorial integrity
  • Familiarity with B2B SaaS, construction technology, or related industries is preferred, with the curiosity and ability to quickly develop deep domain expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • A continuous growth-mindset, with a focus on learning, embracing challenges, and continuously improving
  • A knack for creativity and innovation, bringing fresh ideas to the table and solving complex problems
Benefits & Compensation

This is a salaried position at CompanyCam. Our starting salary range is $100,000-$112,000 per year and is based on experience. We also offer meaningful equity and other benefits.
