About the Position: This position is located at the Desmond Doss Health Clinic (DDHC-SB), Family Advocacy Program, in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Duties
Help
  • Serve as Medical Support Assistant (MSA) for the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) at a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
  • Work front desk reception for FAP, to include: answering phones, scheduling patients, provide customer service, providing assistance, checking in patients, and open/close clinic.
  • Provide statistical data for reports as needed.
  • Perform administrative, medical support, and clerical tasks.
  • Assist with processing referrals for child abuse and domestic violence.

  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a variety of administrative or clerical duties in a medical clinic, such as utilizing common word processing software to create correspondence and forms; maintaining records and data entry using automated management systems; scheduling appointments and resolving minor or routine inquiries from customers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
