Key Responsibilities
  • Actively communicate and establish a proactive relationship with families, serving as their main point of contact.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions in accordance with our established clinical models, specifically leveraging the Attachment-Based Family Therapy approach.
  • Conduct engaging and informative Family Orientations and Welcome Presentations to ease new families into our program.
  • Lead Family Support Groups that provide a space for families to connect, share experiences, and support each other.
  • Ensure timely and thorough documentation of therapy sessions, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, all adhering to established formatting standards.
  • Utilize software tools like Word, Outlook, and electronic medical records (EMR) systems for data entry and case management tasks.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, clinical supervision sessions, and ongoing professional development to sharpen skills and improve client outcomes.
  • Take initiative to manage your daily schedule effectively to accomplish therapy goals and objectives.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on adolescents and young adults, specifically those facing challenges related to mental health issues, trauma, substance abuse, and family dynamics. Our therapeutic approaches are designed to create a safe environment where clients can explore their feelings, learn coping strategies, and develop healthy relationships.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • Currently board registered (e.g., APCC, LAPC, ASW, AMFT, MHCA) or a Psychological Associate in the state of New York is necessary.
  • Experience managing individual, group, or family therapy with adolescents/young adults is a must.
