Job description

TITLE: Branch Associate

Salary Level: Hourly

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Department: Store

Reports to: Branch Manager

A Branch Associate is a dedicated and customer-focused team member who provides exceptional service and support at our branch location. The Branch Associate should possess strong product knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to efficiently assist customers while maintaining branch operations to generate revenue. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team while delivering excellent customer service and operational support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert product knowledge to assist customers in person, over the phone, and via email, ensuring prompt solutions and increased sales.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service through strong interpersonal skills and active listening.
  • Safely handle and load products into customers’ vehicles for secure transport.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including restocking, front-facing, dusting shelves, and general housekeeping duties such as sweeping and mopping.
  • Perform accurate data entry and retrieval in the computer system, including processing customer orders, branch transfers, quotations, inventory details, and pricing.
  • Clearly communicate company policies regarding purchases, returns, credit terms, and other relevant procedures.
  • Conduct accurate cycle counts and inventory management as needed.
  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • May drive/ deliver goods as needed
  • May work warehouse as needed
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by providing after-sales service, securing repeat business, sharing promotions, and cross-selling products.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Required Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong product knowledge with the ability to provide recommendations and solutions.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Experience with data entry and inventory management systems preferred.
  • Forklift certification and ability to maintain certification.
  • Physical ability to lift and handle products safely.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • One year HVAC industry experience
  • General knowledge of HVAC products preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Physical Demands:

  • Required to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, stretch, kneel, squat, push, pull, and move about the facility for the entirety of the shift.

Work Environment:

  • Location of position: Austin, Texas
  • Background checks and drug tests required
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Work will generally be performed in an retail work environment.
  • May be exposed to Warehouse/Shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils.
  • May be required to work hours other than the regular schedule
