Job description

HCM Manager

99% Remote – Chicago, IL (onsite for training and 1-2 meetings/month)

Summary

This is a newly created position that will work with another newly hired Senior HCM Analyst (that will report to this position), on a team of 2, focused on driving the implementation, development and customization of a new resource management tool that will allow a professional services firm to efficiently allocate professionals to clients. For example, determining which associates have availability to take on a new matter, and determining whose workloads are too high to take on new ones, distributing work more evenly, etc.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee the implementation of Resource Management solution and integrations tailored to meet business needs.
  • Team with business owners of upstream and downstream applications to manage upgrades, integrations and provide operational support.
  • Promote proactive approaches using the applicable HR systems to solve business needs/problems, while also enhancing the understanding and acceptance of the system capabilities.
  • Manage projects/process improvements, including the following tasks: apply change management experience to facilitate movement to new levels of quality. Identify and understand issues, concerns and opportunities. Compare data from different sources to draw conclusions. Uses effective approaches for choosing a course of action or develop appropriate solutions. Take action that is consistent with available facts, constraints and probable consequences.
  • Work with the vendor and IT to develop recurring or adhoc reports.
  • Understand and use qualitative/quantitative measurements and data collection design principles.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to deliver superior service in support of key Firm initiatives.
  • Hire, train, develop, and manage HRIS staff. Write annual performance reviews and hold staff accountable to expectations.

Skills We're Seeking

  • 5+ years of experience working with HRIS or HCM Management
  • Experience managing HCM customizations, development, implementations, enhancements and support
  • Strong Excel skills, including v-Lookups

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working for a professional services firm or law firm
