Remote Data Cleaning information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Data Cleaning Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Data Cleaning Specialist, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience with data management, often supported by a degree in a quantitative field. Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, Python (pandas), and data visualization platforms is commonly required. Excellent problem-solving abilities, time management, and clear communication help you collaborate effectively and maintain data integrity. These skills ensure that datasets are accurate, reliable, and ready for analysis, which is crucial for informed business decision-making.

What are some common challenges faced when working remotely as a data cleaning specialist, and how can they be addressed?

Remote data cleaning specialists often encounter challenges such as inconsistent data formats, limited access to original data sources, and communication gaps with team members. To address these, it's important to establish clear data standards, use collaborative tools for real-time updates, and schedule regular check-ins with stakeholders. Staying organized and documenting data cleaning processes also helps maintain quality and ensures team alignment, even when working from different locations.

What is remote data cleaning?

Remote data cleaning is the process of identifying, correcting, or removing inaccurate, incomplete, or irrelevant data from datasets, all performed from a remote location rather than on-site. Professionals use specialized software and scripts to clean and organize data, ensuring its quality and consistency before analysis or use in business processes. This role is essential for organizations that rely on accurate data for decision-making and often involves tasks such as deduplication, error correction, and formatting standardization.

The Opportunity

This is not a closing role.

This is not a strategy role.

This is a high-output execution role designed for someone who wants to earn their place in sales.

As an Outbound Sales Representative, you will play a critical role in growing APB's pipeline by sourcing and qualifying new leads through outbound prospecting and event-based calling campaigns. Your work will directly support the sales engine by ensuring our team has a steady flow of clean, qualified opportunities.

This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable with outbound outreach, thrives in a structured environment, and wants a clear path into a future Junior Sales Representative position.

Key Responsibilities

Outbound Prospecting

  • Identify and prospect new residential building and renovation companies
  • Source new companies not already in the CRM
  • Conduct outbound calls to business owners and decision-makers using approved scripts
  • Qualify and add new Marketing Qualified Records (MQRs) into the CRM
  • Ensure all leads meet APB's target market and data quality standards

Lead Qualification

To count as a qualified record, each new MQR must meet all required criteria:

  • Operates in new homes or renovations
  • Has an active website
  • Is new to the CRM
  • Includes a direct work email address
  • No generic inboxes such as info@, admin@, or sales@
  • Is not sourced via connected accounts
  • Meets APB's qualification and data quality standards

Event-Based Calling Campaigns

  • Execute outbound calling campaigns to support APB events
  • Drive qualified registrations for webinars, workshops, and other events
  • Follow campaign timelines, scripts, and outreach processes
  • Support priority event campaigns as part of core role expectations

CRM & Process Discipline

  • Maintain clean, accurate, and timely CRM records
  • Follow all calling, compliance, and system usage guidelines
  • Use company tools, reporting systems, and workflows consistently
  • Work from approved scripts, lists, and campaign briefs provided by APB

Performance Expectations

This is an output-driven role with clear expectations:

  • Contact 1,500 companies per month
  • Add 150 new qualified MQRs per month
  • Maintain accurate and reliable CRM data
  • Follow all outreach, compliance, and reporting standards

Consistency matters more than occasional big weeks. Success in this role comes from discipline, follow-through, and clean execution over time.

What Success Looks Like

  • You consistently hit or exceed monthly outreach and lead generation targets
  • Your data quality is accurate, clean, and dependable
  • You can be trusted to run outbound campaigns without constant supervision
  • You create enough leverage and performance to earn progression into a Junior Sales Representative role

At APB, progression comes from performance -- not tenure.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in outbound calling, lead generation, sales development, or a similar high-volume outreach role preferred
  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls each day
  • Strong resilience and the ability to handle rejection professionally
  • High attention to detail, especially around data quality and CRM accuracy
  • Coachable, process-driven, and open to feedback
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Organized and able to manage repetitive execution with consistency
  • Self-motivated and able to work remotely without distraction
  • Hungry to grow into a long-term sales career

This role is best suited for someone who is driven, mentally tough, and ready to earn advancement through results.

Tools & Systems

  • HubSpot CRM
  • Phone dialer and approved calling tools
  • Time tracking and reporting systems as required
  • APB-provided scripts, call lists, and campaign briefs

Compensation

  • Full-time, remote position
  • Location: United States
  • Base salary: $46,000 USD
  • On-target earnings: approximately $50,000 USD
  • Bonus: $10 USD for each new qualified MQR added
  • Additional event registration incentives may apply
  • Performance-based earning structure
  • Clear advancement path into a sales role

Why Join APB

At the Association of Professional Builders, you won't just be filling a seat -- you'll be building the foundation for a career in sales inside a company that values excellence, integrity, and growth.

This role exists to:

  • Grow the APB database with clean, qualified records
  • Feed the sales team with real opportunities
  • Develop future sales talent from the ground up

If you are ready to bring discipline, resilience, and consistency to a role where your performance truly matters, we encourage you to apply.
