Job description

Term of Employment:  Full-Time/10 months with Benefits, for the 2025-26 School Year
Salary Range:               $17.10 - $19.89 Per hour, Depending on Experience
Position Summary:
The Skills Trainer is responsible for providing training and support for interns to ensure success during the work site rotations and/or a competitive job. The position is also responsible for assisting students in the classroom under the general direction of the Project SEARCH Instructor by providing supplementary instruction and guided clinical practice. Duties may vary depending upon individual and work site situations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.
 








  • Provides support to interns as deemed necessary by the team to include the following:
  • Reinforce intern's vocational, job-readiness, independent living, and personal/social skills
  • Structure training at work experience sites consistent with each intern's targeted vocational goals
  • Assist with task analysis of interns' required work duties
  • Identify and implement any necessary accommodations/modifications at work experience sites
  • Collect data to document interns' progress in work experience sites
  • Assists with teaching the Project SEARCH curriculum as directed by the instructor
  • Assists instructor with maintaining an accurate case file for each intern
  • Provides support to intern rotation site employees to ensure consistent, accurate communication of all concerns,  and feedback related to interns  
  • Provides direct supervision of students/interns
  • Maintains confidentiality of student/intern files/information
  • Assures the safety of students at all times
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
One year of recent experience working with high school students or students with disabilities in a formal setting
Must be at least 18 years old
High school diploma or equivalent
Current First Aid/CPR certification or be able to obtain it
Current negative TB test (within a year)
Proof of MMR immunization (unless born prior to January 1, 1957)
Current IVP fingerprint clearance card or be able to obtain one
Valid AZ driver's license
Preferred:
Three years experience working in a school district setting
Experience working with individuals in an employment training environment
Experience working with individuals with disabilities
Bilingual, English/Spanish
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Possess an attitude that all individuals, provided proper supports have the ability to develop skills and contribute in the workplace
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to complete tasks from written and oral instructions
