Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to lead and support a strategic Data Strategy initiative for a global Life Sciences organization. The ideal candidate will possess a technical project management background, experience managing data-driven projects with solid understanding of Life Sciences processes, regulatory requirements, and GxP compliance. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, data architects, engineering teams, and leadership to drive planning, execution, governance, and successful delivery of the data strategy roadmap.
Skills / Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science, Information technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline or equivalent experience with 12+ Minimum Experience.
  • 8+ years of Business Analyst experience, including 6+ years of experience in Data Strategy, Data Governance / Management, Data Transformation or data warehouse initiatives
  • Experience an strong understanding of data models, schemas, data access, and data flows; SQL and database querying; familiarity with ETL/data pipeline concepts
  • Familiarity with clinical workflows and systems leverage by clinical operations, clinical data management, statistical programmers and regulatory
  • Strong communication and ability to translate data requirements into technical solutions
  • Secondary Skills / Good to have - Understanding of GxP validation, healthcare regulations (HIPAA, GCP), and data traceability; Understanding data governance policies, roles, and standards; Data quality management, validation, and stewardship; Python for data analysis and validation

Job / Role Description
  • Individual contributor partnering with Business Process Owners and Project Managers to define, document, and deliver complex business and system requirements for data strategy and data warehousing initiatives; Leads requirements refinement, including current/future state analysis, requirements documentation, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment across clinical data domains
  • Analyze complex clinical datasets (e.g., clinical trial, real world evidence, and Clinical Operations data) to inform requirements and solution design
  • Author user and functional requirements specifications, including data flows, lineage, traceability, and data access patterns
  • Refine existing user and functional requirements specification; Partners with the Validation team to ensure testability of requirements and release readiness
  • Define business requirements for data models, reporting layers, data products, and semantic/analytics structures
  • Owns User Acceptance Testing planning and execution; Communicate effectively with internal and customer stakeholders
  • May partner with testing teams to ensure requirements are testable and solutions are compliant and ready for release
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain productive relationships with team members
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Thinking; Capability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently
  • Prior experience in working on Agile/Scrum projects with exposure to tools like Jira/Azure DevOps

  • Contribute to data specifications, data models, and source to target mapping artifacts aligned to data pipelines; Develop UAT scenarios aligned to validated data transformations, data access controls, and reporting outputs; Provide regular status updates, documenting progress, risks, dependencies, and assumptions
  • Strategic Project Delivery - Successfully execute key milestones of the Data Strategy roadmap on schedule and within budget; Establish a structured governance model, including steering committees, stakeholder forums, and project reporting mechanisms; Align business objectives with data initiatives and ensure stakeholder buy-in across functions
  • Data Governance & Compliance - Implement / strengthen data governance processes, standards, and controls; Ensure data-related initiatives comply with GxP requirements and organizational regulatory standards; Facilitate risk assessments and remediation plans for data quality, compliance, and operational risks
