Job description

The Senior Domain Architect, Data Management, is a key technical advisor within Workiva's Data Management Practice. This role supports customers and partners through onboarding, implementation, and adoption of Workiva solutions, applying expertise in data management, integration, and automation to drive long-term value. Acting as a bridge between Sales, Engineering, and Customer & Partner Experience teams, the Architect helps organizations realize the full potential of the Workiva platform while staying aligned with broader technology solutions.

The Senior Domain Architect engages directly with customers and partners, including at executive levels, to design and deliver scalable data management solutions. By fostering strong relationships, sharing best practices, and guiding adoption, the Architect ensures reliable, efficient outcomes that strengthen customer success and long-term value with Workiva.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with customers to understand their business needs, data requirements, and desired outcomes with Workiva solutions.

  • Partner with the pre-sales team to facilitate a seamless transition from the sales process to implementation services engagements and beyond

  • Engage with Solution Architects and Customer Success teams to ensure a cohesive and positive customer experience throughout onboarding and implementation

  • Analyze customer needs and recommend optimal use of Workiva's Data Management Suite to achieve accurate, efficient, and scalable solutions

  • Work closely with consulting project delivery stakeholders to define tasks, contribute to project plans, and monitor progress

  • Review and establish data integration workflows between various customer systems and the Workiva platform

  • Review and develop data queries and reporting solutions that meet customer analytical and reporting requirements, including mentoring internal and external stakeholders on leading practices

  • Conduct knowledge sharing sessions with customer and partner application owners to enable self-sufficiency and ongoing success.

  • Review and create documentation for deployed customer and partner solutions, configurations, and best practices

  • Gather feedback from customer and partner interactions and share insights with Product Development and Product Management.

  • Drive customer and partner success by fostering product adoption, ensuring satisfaction, and contributing to overall customer health

  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Partner Experience teams to define expected outcomes and demonstrate the value realized by customers and partners

  • Accurately document new and existing data management features and functionalities for internal and external reference.

  • Proactively monitor customer and partner environments, staying informed about the Workiva product roadmap to provide effective support and guidance

What You'll Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field of study, preferably Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or similar

  • 6+ years of related career experience in customer-facing roles, preferably Technical Customer Success, Solution Architecture, or Consulting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish (Native/Executive level)

  • Experience with Python for scripting and automation

  • Experience integrating or managing SaaS applications and enterprise systems, particularly within Accounting, Finance, Audit, Risk & Compliance, or Sustainability

  • Expertise working with complex, regulated data structures and translating regulatory requirements into scalable, software-driven workflows

  • Experience integrating with or managing ERP (e.g., Oracle, Workday, SAP, Sage), EPM (e.g., Oracle, Planful, Anaplan), and enterprise data/analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Power BI)

  • Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms and modern data architectures (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse)

  • Experience with integration technologies such as Informatica, SSIS, Boomi, MuleSoft, or Workato

  • Strong understanding of APIs, including REST and SOAP protocols, JSON/XML formats, and hands-on API execution through scripting.

  • Solid knowledge of data engineering, data warehousing, ETL processes, and SQL query development

  • Strong problem-solving and technical diagnostic skills.

  • Data-driven and detail-oriented with the ability to manage priorities independently

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations

  • Proven ability to build credibility, influence stakeholders, and drive cross-functional alignment

  • Demonstrated commitment to customer success and long-term value creation

Travel Requirements and Working Conditions

  • 15% Travel for internal meetings

  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office

How You'll Be Rewarded

Salary range in the US: $129,000.00 - $210,000.00

A discretionary bonus typically paid annually

Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
