In this role, you'll complete high-quality RFI, RFP, and RFQ responses for both the public and private sectors. The primary goal of this role is to analyze proposal requests and write strategically positioned responses that clearly differentiate Procore from the competition and articulate our value proposition.

As an Associate Technical Writer, you'll partner with cross-functional teams including Sales, Product, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Operations to craft compelling, technical product-specific content. Use your technical writing expertise, attention to detail, and strategic messaging skills to turn complex software details into winning proposal content.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Proposal Team, and will be based out of our Austin, Texas; Carpinteria, California; Tampa, Florida offices, or remotely within the US. We're looking for someone to join us immediately.

What You'll Do
  • Analyze incoming RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs to develop strategically positioned proposal responses that highlight client benefits and competitive advantages.

  • Partner directly with cross-functional teams, including Product, Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Operations, to gather accurate information and refine proposal messaging.

  • Create and maintain original, technical, product-specific content within the proposal content management database to ensure consistent messaging.

  • Facilitate case-specific proposal response strategies, task lists, and work plans to drive seamless execution across all projects.

  • Customize technical content for specific strategic sales situations in both public and private sector construction markets.

  • Ensure strict compliance with all RFP requirements, response outlines, checklists, and internal project milestones.

  • Maintain a 100% on-time completion rate while productively managing a high volume of simultaneous project requests.

  • Monitor construction industry trends and software developments to continuously enhance proposal messaging and strategies.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Marketing, Communications, or a related field with an emphasis on technical writing, combined with 2+ years of professional work experience, preferably supporting RFPs.

  • Solid understanding of construction project management processes, SaaS frameworks, and information technology concepts.

  • Proven ability to write and source clear, accurate, and compelling technical content tailored to target audience objectives.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong listening and interpersonal capabilities.

  • Highly accountable, flexible, and detail-oriented work style with proven success in prioritizing multiple deadlines simultaneously.

  • Alignment with Procore's core values of Openness, Optimism, and Ownership to thrive in a collaborative environment.

  • Prior experience utilizing construction management software (such as Procore) or proposal management platforms (such as RFPIO) is preferred.
