Job description

Overview

We’re partnering with a growing, independent insurance brokerage that’s redefining how commercial clients manage risk. With a strong focus on tailored solutions, long-term relationships, and digital tools that enhance efficiency, they support a wide variety of industries including construction, tech, and hospitality. The team fosters a consultative sales culture where producers act as true advisors - not just policy sellers. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven commercial lines producer looking to join a nimble, well-supported brokerage environment with high-growth potential and operational clarity.

The Role

This role is focused on new business development across commercial lines of insurance, with a strong emphasis on prospecting, needs-based consultation, and solution-based sales. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership and Account Management to quote, present, and close new business. Once policies are bound, servicing responsibilities are transitioned to the AM team, allowing the producer to focus on pipeline growth and retention strategy. The role requires a balance of proactive outreach, strategic consultation, and industry knowledge to deliver high-quality client solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively source and engage commercial clients through networking, digital outreach, and referral channels

  • Conduct detailed risk assessments and recommend tailored insurance solutions across General Liability, Property, Workers’ Comp, Cyber, Auto, and more

  • Build and present customized proposals to prospects, managing the sales process through to close

  • Collaborate with internal platforms and tools (e.g., AgencyZoom, Vertafore) to quote and bind policies

  • Maintain client relationships post-sale via renewal strategies, upselling opportunities, and consistent communication

  • Monitor and act on premium changes during renewals in line with internal thresholds and procedures

  • Stay informed on carrier updates, market trends, and regulatory shifts within commercial lines

  • Identify cross-sell opportunities and educate clients on evolving risks and coverage needs

Requirements
  • Proven experience in commercial insurance sales or production, ideally within an independent agency

  • Strong understanding of core commercial coverages and risk management principles

  • Excellent communication, consultative sales, and client service skills

  • Proficiency with CRM and quoting platforms (AgencyZoom, Vertafore, raters) preferred

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage and grow a sales pipeline independently

  • Licensed in Property & Casualty Insurance

Nice to Have

  • Niche expertise in industries like construction, hospitality, or tech

  • Established referral network (e.g., CPAs, attorneys, consultants)

  • Familiarity with agency billing practices and direct/agency renewal strategies

Salary

Competitive compensation package with commission structure aligned to performance.

Location

Hybrid or remote, with occasional travel to client meetings or industry events as needed. Open to candidates based in the United States.

Benefits
  • Dedicated account management support post-sale

  • Access to modern tools and platforms to streamline quoting and CRM

  • Training and ongoing education via carrier briefings and industry events

  • Growth-oriented, entrepreneurial culture with leadership support
