Job description

We're hiring a Customer Support Specialist to be the first human our early users reach — questions, onboarding, and the follow-through that turns a first login into a habit.

Summary
  • Flexible Title: Can tailor to reflect your skills & experience.
  • Flexible Time: Can do full-time, part-time, side-gig (off-hours), or fractional (contract).
  • Flexible Commitment: Can do short-term, long-term, or intermittent.

Why so flexible? We're a FUNDED startup racing to launch end of Q3 2026. That gives us just 3 months to stack features while raising additional working capital. Feel free to jump in, help us ship, then bounce >> or stick around. A successful launch translates into lots of permanent jobs for those that want them. We're also interested in long-term "side gig" relationships, if that's what you're into—in our experience, a few expert hours often beat full-time learning-curve hours.

About Us

We're a credible, funded, remote-first startup backed by a growing team. We're pre-launch and moving fast.

About The Role

We're onboarding our first wave of users — busy professionals and business owners who value their time. They don't need a script. They need someone fast, organized, and actually helpful when they have a question, hit a wall, or want to do more.

This is customer support with a relationship bar: answer people, unblock them, make sure nobody sits in an inbox. Warmth and follow-through beat canned macros. You'll be the human touchpoint for people who are used to working through relationships.

Compensation

Up to $75,000 max total annual compensation in Tier 1 cities; cash and equity components to be negotiated. Given the flexible commitment model, comp will be structured accordingly — fractional or hourly arrangements welcome.

What You'll Do in Your First 7 Days
  • You've reviewed who our early members are and what they care about
  • You've gone through the platform yourself and can navigate it confidently
  • You've responded to your first batch of user questions
  • You've attended your first team meeting and understand how user feedback flows to product
  • The team knows who you are, why you're here, and how you'll work together
What You'll Do Ongoing
  • Be the first point of contact — reply to questions, troubleshoot, and make sure people feel heard
  • Onboard new members — get them through first steps so they see value quickly
  • Keep the inbox honest — nothing sits; you close the loop
  • Relay user feedback — you're the voice of the user internally
  • Build relationships — our users value a person over an automated reply
What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • 1–3 years in customer support, customer success, client services, or any role where you helped people at volume
  • Genuinely enjoy talking to people and solving their problems
  • Strong written communication — you can write a clear, warm reply without a template
  • Organized and responsive — you don't let messages sit unanswered
  • Comfortable working across time zones in a remote-first environment

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with help desk or CRM tools (Zendesk, HubSpot, Intercom, or similar)
  • Background in hospitality, recruiting, or any high-volume people role
  • Startup experience or comfort with ambiguity
What You're NOT
  • Not a customer-success "book of accounts" seat — this is front-line help and onboarding, not farming existing revenue
  • Not a salesperson — you're not closing deals; you're making sure users get unstuck
  • Not a product manager — you'll relay feedback, but you're not making roadmap calls

By clicking APPLY, you consent to receive email and SMS communication from ListLab.
