Remote Curtain Wall information

What are remote curtain wall jobs?

Remote curtain wall jobs involve designing, engineering, or managing curtain wall systems—non-structural cladding systems that are attached to the exterior of buildings—while working offsite. Professionals in these roles use digital tools to collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to create detailed designs, ensure structural integrity, and oversee project progress. Remote curtain wall specialists often work for architectural firms, construction companies, or specialized façade engineering consultancies, contributing to projects from anywhere with internet access. These jobs require strong technical skills, proficiency in CAD or BIM software, and excellent communication abilities to coordinate with onsite teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Curtain Wall Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Curtain Wall Designer, you need strong knowledge of building envelope systems, architectural drafting, and structural principles, typically supported by a degree in architecture, engineering, or related fields. Proficiency in CAD software, BIM tools like Revit, and familiarity with industry standards such as ASTM or AAMA are essential. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective remote communication are crucial soft skills for collaborating with project teams and clients. These competencies ensure the accurate design, safety, and successful implementation of curtain wall systems in construction projects.

What are some common challenges encountered when working remotely as a Curtain Wall Designer or Engineer, and how can they be addressed?

Working remotely in a Curtain Wall role often involves overcoming challenges such as coordinating effectively with architects, structural engineers, and fabrication teams who may be on-site or in different locations. Communication is key—using collaborative software, maintaining detailed documentation, and scheduling regular virtual meetings help ensure alignment on project specifications and timelines. Additionally, remote workers should proactively seek feedback and clarify any design changes early to prevent costly errors in fabrication or installation. Staying organized and leveraging digital tools for modeling and project management can significantly streamline workflows and keep remote projects on track.

Job description

Founding Product Manager

Location: Philadelphia preferred · New York City and Washington, DC considered
Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000 base + meaningful early-employee equity
Visa Sponsorship: None available
Experience Level: 4–8 years
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Company

The company is building the AI workflow layer for one of the world's largest industries that has resisted automation for more than 15 years: construction. Currently at approximately $2M ARR on its core product with plans to grow 10x over the next 12 months, the company is helping construction businesses move from low-automation workflows to AI-powered systems where agents perform work with minimal human review. This is the team's first dedicated Product hire.

About the Role

This founding Product Manager will help determine which parts of the existing workflow should be transformed from human-operated services into software products and in what sequence. You'll report directly to the Co-Founder and Head of Product and work closely with the CEO. This is a highly hands-on product role centered around a weekly spec-to-ship cadence — driven by direct observation and workflow immersion rather than traditional interview-based research.

What You'll Own
  • Own a product surface end to end and determine roadmap priorities
  • Operate on a weekly spec-to-ship cadence
  • Write specifications, partner closely with engineering, and QA live customer workflows
  • Sit directly with estimators and contractors to observe workflows and identify opportunities
  • Decide which portions of the business should transition from services to software
  • Own success metrics including cycle time per bid, scope completeness, vendor quote turnaround, and win rate
Requirements
  • 4–8 years of product management experience with at least one prior role at an early-stage startup
  • Demonstrated experience shipping products — not just writing specifications
  • End-to-end ownership of a product surface including PRDs, standups, demos, QA, and metrics
  • Fast execution mindset with a preference for rapid iteration and weekly releases
  • Strong written communication skills
  • AI-native fluency including tools such as Codex, Claude Code, and agentic workflows
  • Philadelphia preferred — NYC and DC candidates considered; up to 40% travel; remote-only is not a fit
Nice to Have
  • Construction, AEC, glazing, curtain wall, or architectural metals exposure
  • Vertical SaaS or AI-native services experience
  • Technical background with ability to read code
  • Scale-up product experience from roughly $1M to $100M ARR environments
This Role Is NOT For
  • Product managers who avoid direct customer interaction
  • Slide-deck-focused PMs who rely on presentations instead of written product documents
  • Remote-only candidates unwilling to spend meaningful time in Philadelphia
Benefits
  • Employer-funded healthcare through Patch
  • Meal stipend
  • Meaningful early-employee equity grant
Interview Process
  1. Initial chat (30 minutes)
  2. Technical / take-home challenge
  3. Team round
  4. Optional on-site at Philadelphia office
  5. Offer
Logistics
  • Philadelphia preferred — NYC and DC candidates considered
  • Up to 40% travel required
  • No visa sponsorship available
