The Account Executive is instrumental in helping grow the company's revenue by generating interest in our products and services, communicating our value proposition and supporting customers through complex reviews involving many stakeholders.  The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with many school district employees including superintendents, curriculum directors, site leaders, department heads, and teachers.

An educational background is critical to navigate the K-12 landscape; this could be gained through teaching or administrative experience, or through experience in selling to the K-12 industry in a previous role.

This role focuses on selling a variety of products in a solutions selling environment.  Imagine Learning is a fast-growing company, so expect to juggle multiple priorities and think creatively in service to our customers' needs.

Position Information: This is a regular, full-time position, typically reporting to a Regional Sales Director.

Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00 per year. Substantial additional commission compensation may be achieved as it relates to the achievement of quota for the assigned territory.  Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, performance, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.

Location: In this US-based position your location will be remote.

Travel: You can also expect up to approximately 75% travel year-round, so be sure you have a valid driver's license and automobile insurance and a clean driving record for at least the preceding 39 months.  Travel requirements will include weekly overnights to support the territory, and some evenings and weekends for client engagements, dinners, industry trade shows, etc.

Envision Your Experience.

In this role you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Present and demonstrate the value of products and services to prospective buyers.
  • Develop sales strategies to meet assigned quotas.
  • Provide support for clients by learning about and satisfying their needs.
  • Make cold calls or reach out to prospects.
  • Follow up with prospects several times throughout the sales cycle to ensure needs are being met.
  • Compile and analyze data to find trends.
  • Stay current on company offerings and industry trends.
  • Maintain a database of contact information.
  • Build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with external contacts and internal departments to create a world class customer experience.
  • Handle complaints and negotiations.
  • Attend trade shows, seminars, and client events as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

Share Your Expertise.

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, education, or related field and at least 5 years of K-12 education sales experience -OR- experience with the procurement process for K-12 curriculum at the district or school level -OR- an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • K-12 education Core curriculum sales experience into adoptions states is highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time year-round (within the territory), at least 3 days/week, involving weekly overnight travel.
  • Ability to maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Driver's License and have a clear DMV record for the past 39 months.
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of company offerings and industry trends or ability to quickly learn.
  • Drive energy to manage multiple accounts while looking for new opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship building and networking capabilities.
  • Ability to understand client needs and successfully manage the negotiation process.
  • Strong time management skills with ability to multi-task and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Computer skills, including MS Office and CRM software (preferably experience with Salesforce).
  • Candidates currently living in the assigned territory that have an established book of contacts are highly preferred.
