Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Clinical Informaticist is a remote position and requires up to 50% travel. The Clinical Informaticist promotes understanding, integration, and application of information technology in the healthcare setting. The CI applies education and experience to effectively address complex challenges in diverse healthcare delivery environments. The CI acts as a liaison between clinical care and information technology, supporting employees  throughout the care continuum in the full life cycle of clinical technology projects. The CI role promotes system standardization and optimization. The position supports clinical value transformation and evidence based practice strategies with the outcome of improving patient safety and care quality through the integration of system workflows, technology enhancements, and clinical dashboards. The CI provides informatics expertise in curriculum design and delivery, EHR training and competency validation to associates.

  • Communicates technology changes, upgrades, and downtimes to clinical customers. Conducts workflow analysis to improve efficient, reliable use of the clinical information systems. Scheduled facility rounding as directed Participate in implementation and go-live activities Develops and maintains established standards of work and system design.
  • Actively and efficiently engages with key leaders, teams and subject matter experts to collaborate on and influence the design and development of projects, curriculum and workflows, and the integration of technology into patient care processes.
  • Engaged in projects focused on adding enhanced functionality and/or creating end user efficiency that generates a positive return on investment for the organization Promotes highest attainable quality in the full life cycle of Clinical Information Systems.
  • Participates in educational programs, current evidence, projects, meetings and workshops.
  • Contributes to all assigned projects from initial kick-off through conclusion of implementation. 

  • Provides routine and appropriate communication at project status, accomplishments, upcoming activities, and risks.

Job Requirements

Required 

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, MIS, Nursing, Informatics, HIT, Health Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience, upon hire and
  • Active clinical license in Nursing, Occupational or Physical Therapy

  • EPIC Certification 
  • Informatics Nurse (RN BC Info) 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
