What is a remote cross domain?

Remote Cross Domain jobs involve working across different domains or areas of expertise, often in a virtual or remote setting. These roles require collaboration between teams with varied skill sets, such as software development, cybersecurity, and project management, to manage data or processes that span multiple domains. The primary goal is to ensure secure and efficient data sharing and workflow integration between different systems or organizational units, often while adhering to strict security policies. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote cross domain specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Cross Domain Specialist, you need expertise in cybersecurity, network protocols, and secure information transfer, often supported by a degree in computer science or information security and relevant security clearances. Familiarity with cross domain solution (CDS) technologies, security frameworks (such as NIST), and systems like Guard or Data Diode platforms is typically required. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you navigate complex security requirements and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. These skills are crucial to ensuring secure, compliant, and seamless data sharing across domains in sensitive environments.
