Leidos is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Salesforce Developer Architect to join our enterprise application development team. This role is responsible for the design, development, integration, and optimization of mission-critical Salesforce solutions supporting customer relationship management (CRM), knowledge management (KM), public-facing portals, and other enterprise business functions.

The successful candidate will serve as both a hands-on technical contributor and Salesforce solution architect, providing leadership throughout the entire software development lifecycle-from requirements analysis and solution design to development, testing, deployment, and operational support. This individual will collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and development teams to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce solutions aligned with organizational objectives.

Please Note: This is 100% telework/remote opportunity. However, candidate must be/reside in the Gaithersburg, MD/Washington, DC metro area.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership:

  • Design scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives.

  • Lead technical design sessions and provide architectural guidance for Salesforce implementations, enhancements, and integrations.

  • Evaluate business requirements and translate them into technical solutions utilizing Salesforce platform capabilities and industry best practices.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on Salesforce capabilities, limitations, and strategic roadmap opportunities.

  • Mentor and guide developers, administrators, and project teams on Salesforce development standards and architecture best practices.

Salesforce Development & Configuration:

  • Perform hands-on development using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, SOQL/SOSL, and Salesforce APIs.

  • Configure and maintain Salesforce objects, fields, page layouts, flows, validation rules, security models, and automation processes.

  • Design and implement custom applications and reusable components within the Salesforce ecosystem.

  • Develop robust testing strategies, including unit tests, integration tests, and deployment validation activities.

Integration & Data Management:

  • Design and implement integrations between Salesforce and external enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware platforms, and event-driven architectures.

  • Lead complex data migration, transformation, and synchronization initiatives.

  • Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance across Salesforce environments.

  • Optimize platform performance and scalability through effective data architecture and solution design.

Agile Delivery & Operations:

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams throughout project delivery.

  • Conduct peer code reviews and enforce development standards, CI/CD processes, and DevOps best practices.

  • Support production deployments, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, OR in a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience OR Masters degree with 6+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience maybe considered and/or accepted in lieu of degree.

  • 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing Salesforce solutions in enterprise environments.

  • 8+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience.

  • Contact Center experience.

  • Federal Government experience.

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex Salesforce projects and technical teams.

Technical Skills:

  • Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture, security model, data model, and platform best practices.

  • Extensive experience with: Apex, Lightning Web Components , Visualforce, SOQL/SOSL, Salesforce APIs, Platform Events, Salesforce Flow, Lightning App Builder, Experience Cloud.

  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce integration patterns and enterprise architecture.

  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and modern web application development frameworks.

  • Experience with source control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

  • US Citizen.

Required Salesforce Certifications (1 or more):

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator.

  • Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder.

  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I.

  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II.

Additional Experience:

  • Experience supporting federal government programs and regulated environments.

  • Experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud, Service Cloud, and Knowledge Management solutions.

  • Experience implementing AI-powered Salesforce capabilities, Agentforce, Einstein, or predictive analytics solutions.

  • Knowledge of FedRAMP, NIST, and government security compliance requirements.

Please Note: The program budget salary for this role could fall anywhere between $150,000 to low/high $160,000 with a slight wiggle room (no guarantees) based on relevant experience and assessment.
