Position Overview

Center Pointe Psychotherapy Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our remote team as a Crisis Intervention Specialist. In this full-time role, you will leverage your expertise in mental health counseling to provide immediate support to individuals in crisis, focusing on addiction-related issues and other mental health emergencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive crisis assessments and interventions for individuals experiencing acute mental health emergencies, including substance misuse crises.
  • Provide immediate counseling and support to clients in distress, offering therapeutic techniques tailored to their specific needs.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency response teams to ensure client safety during crises.
  • Develop and execute individualized crisis intervention plans, incorporating follow-up care and referrals to longer-term support services.
  • Utilize crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques in challenging situations to create a safe environment for clients.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in crisis counseling and trauma-informed care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with individuals experiencing severe emotional crises, including trauma, addiction, and suicidal ideation. Our clients often require urgent support due to various life circumstances, such as loss, relationship issues, or substance abuse. You will play a pivotal role in assisting clients to navigate their struggles and providing them the tools necessary for recovery while maintaining cultural sensitivity and an empathetic approach.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
  • At least 3 years of recent experience in mental health counseling, specifically in crisis intervention and addiction therapy.
  • Proficiency in employing evidence-based crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport quickly with clients in emotional distress.
  • A commitment to ethical practices and adherence to legal standards in crisis counseling.
Preferred Experience
