Job description

About the Role

We're looking for a strong Account Director to lead a high-profile CPG program. This role requires a strong operator, strategic partner, and team leader who can navigate fast-moving businesses, complex stakeholder ecosystems, and high-volume creative production while driving exceptional work and client trust. This person will help sustain structure and clarity to campaigns across a portfolio of 13+ brands by building scalable processes, managing cross-functional coordination, and keeping teams aligned from planning through execution.

This role involves sustaining success on the program, problem solving operational/management challenges that arise, managing the delivery of key projects, collaborating with program leads at the client organization, and working closely with the internal leadership team across our agency collective. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable navigating ambiguity. They know how to keep momentum moving, ask thoughtful questions, and partner effectively across creative, operations, and stakeholder teams in an environment with evolving priorities and frequent reviews.

This is a highly visible role requiring both executive presence and hands-on leadership within a collaborative integrated agency environment.

Responsibilities:

Client Relationship & Partnership

  • Lead strategic client relationships (day to day & senior levels), positioning the team as a true business partner
  • Navigate complex feedback loops and stakeholder management with confidence and diplomacy
  • Drive alignment across clients, internal teams, and partner agencies within the integrated agency team (IAT)

Team Leadership:

  • Build key relationships with internal discipline leads as well as lead, mentor, and support account team members across levels
  • Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented team culture
  • Encourage strategic thinking, accountability, and strong client stewardship across the business
  • Lead full Program team to sustain success and further drive efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate with creative, strategy, and production teams to deliver integrated solutions

Operational Excellence

  • Manage high-volume workflows across multiple concurrent projects and asset builds
  • Drive efficiencies across timelines, briefing processes, feedback management, and resource allocation
  • Monitor account health including scopes, utilization, burn management, SLAs, and delivery KPIs
  • Identify operational risks early and proactively develop solutions
  • Partner closely with project management to ensure teams are set up for success
  • Contribute to financial forecasting and internal revenue management activities
  • Work with an internal cross-functional team to ensure deliverables are produced on time, on budget, and to client's specifications

Creative Development

  • Lead creative process from briefing to execution across multiple client deliverables, including digital advertising/marketing programs.
  • Partner with clients on creative briefs to communicate project requirements for strategy, creative, and copywriting teams.
  • Create and update all project timelines, manage spreadsheets, creative folders and other shared documents across platforms.
  • Manage all processes required to obtain a range of client approvals
  • Maintain excellent written and verbal communication with all parties.
  • Responsible for leading ad campaign delivery for Procter & Gamble, focusing primarily on digital execution, and occasionally on TV and print. Provide general leadership for the account team, with two direct reports, while maintaining overall oversight of the team's operational health. Scope ranges from tactical campaigns-including minor adaptations and resizing-to high-complexity projects involving strategy, creative development, and full-scale production shoots.
About YouThe essentials:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree
  • 8-12+ years of marketing experience in a fast-paced, independent environment
  • Demonstrated ability to execute large-scale strategies and programs, with experience managing diverse set of digital marketing programs mapping back to larger strategy and objectives
  • Ability to write a campaign brief and give strong direction to the creative team
  • Strong confident communicator with executive presence and relationship building skills with key partners and stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills to organize teams across complex projects.
  • We are looking for someone with a strong production/PM background for creative assets rather than a purely commercial AD. Understanding the 'soft side'-the back-and-forth of creative ideas-is definitely a plus.
  • A plus - experience managing large enterprise or Fortune 500 accounts, preferably within CPG or healthcare categories
  • Interest in AI-enabled marketing workflows, innovation, and operational transformation

Timezone requirement:

Matching or very close to Ohio GMT-4 (EST) - open to remote as well

At Monks, we believe in fostering an environment where a diversity of perspectives can thrive. We proactively work to design hiring processes that promote equity and inclusion while mitigating bias. We celebrate diversity and are committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve. We welcome and encourage qualified applicants, from all backgrounds, who are excited to contribute to our mission.

This role is subject to our Return to Office (RTO) policy. If you reside within a commutable distance of one of our office locations, you will be expected to work from the office a set number of days per week. The specific details, including the number of required office days, will be in accordance with the company's then-current RTO policy, which is subject to change from time to time.
