Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing trauma-informed counseling services tailored to the individual needs of clients, ensuring a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.
• Incorporating Biblical counseling approaches for clients who seek a faith-based perspective, facilitating deeper spiritual connections in treatment.
• Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments of client goals and challenges.
• Delivering counseling services to clients referred from local churches, fostering strong community ties that enhance client engagement.
• Actively participating in community outreach initiatives to build your caseload and establish new referral channels.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including social workers and clinical counselors, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
• Maintaining accurate and timely records, including progress notes and treatment updates, within our electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Communicating openly with the center director about scheduling, client progress, and service outcomes.

This position primarily serves individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds who are navigating various mental health challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, and relational issues. The counselor will work to ensure that each client receives compassionate and customized care consistent with their unique experiences and faith preferences.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field.
• Strong familiarity with the Bible and Biblical counseling techniques or frameworks.
• A valid and independently licensed counselor credential in Washington, DC, and a commitment to continue professional development.
• Training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) or willingness to complete basic training within three months of hire.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A compassionate, empathic approach to counseling that respects client confidentiality and adheres to ethical guidelines.

While one year of trauma counseling experience is required, preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate:

• Dual licensure in Virginia or Maryland, enhancing collaboration with clients in those areas.
• A comprehensive understanding of various therapeutic modalities and interventions to better serve a broad clientele.
• Experience working with diverse age groups and cultural backgrounds.

The salary range for this position is approximately $100,000 to $105,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Our compensation package also includes:
