Remote Couple Property Management information

What is remote couple property management?

Remote couple property management refers to a job where a couple is hired to oversee and maintain a property, such as a vacation rental, apartment complex, or estate, while living on-site or nearby. Their responsibilities often include performing maintenance, handling guest relations, managing bookings, and ensuring the property is well-kept. The 'remote' aspect means the property is typically in a location away from urban centers or the couple manages it without direct supervision from owners. This role is ideal for pairs who work well together, are self-motivated, and enjoy living in new or rural locations.

What are the typical challenges faced by couples managing properties remotely, and how can they effectively address them?

Couples managing properties remotely often encounter challenges such as coordinating maintenance from a distance, ensuring reliable tenant communication, and handling emergencies without being on-site. Effective solutions include leveraging property management software for streamlined communication, building a network of trusted local vendors, and setting clear roles between partners to divide responsibilities. Regular virtual check-ins with tenants and routine digital inspections can also help maintain high standards and quickly address any issues, ensuring smooth property operations despite the remote nature of the role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote couple property manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Couple Property Manager, you generally need experience in property maintenance, hospitality management, and administrative tasks, often supported by relevant certifications or backgrounds in real estate or facility management. Familiarity with property management software, online booking systems, and remote communication tools is essential. Strong teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and excellent customer service skills set successful couples apart in this role. These abilities are vital for efficiently managing properties, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining smooth operations from a distance.

Job description

Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You
The location for this position is virtual/remote
This is your opportunity to serve as a strategic operations partner on the Americas Planning and Business Operations team. You will help translate Hilton's highest-priority regional and enterprise projects into clear strategies, executable plans, and measurable outcomes. As Manager, Planning and Business Operations, Americas, you will report to the Director of Business Planning and Operations. You will also partner with members of the Americas Leadership Team, enterprise partners, and hotel leaders. You will help guide high-priority Americas Managed projects. These projects include Customer Promise, Property Management System (PEP) Migration, and AI On-Property enablement. You will focus on strategic planning, operational execution, partner understanding, executive communications, change leadership, and performance improvement across the managed estate.
What you'll do during a typical day:
  • Partner with the Americas Leadership Team to define, prioritize, and advance initiatives that improve hotel performance, guest outcomes, and operational execution.
  • Translate strategic priorities into clear project charters, success measures, operating rhythms, decisions, and execution plans that create understanding across matrixed teams.
  • Lead cross-functional workstreams by identifying risks, surfacing dependencies, removing barriers, and recommending solutions that accelerate progress.
  • Analyze operational, guest experience, adoption, and project performance data to identify trends, clarify opportunities, and inform leadership recommendations.
  • Develop executive-ready materials, business cases, strategic narratives, project updates, and decision-support tools that progress, tradeoffs, and recommended actions.

How you'll collaborate with others:
  • Be a trusted strategic partner to Americas leaders by bringing structure and insight to complex operational priorities.
  • Influence cross-functional partners in a matrixed environment, driving understanding, accountability, prioritization, and momentum without relying on direct authority.
  • Represent the voice of hotel operations by ensuring enterprise projects are practical, executable, and informed by property-level feedback, readiness needs, and operational realities.

Projects you'll take ownership of:
  • You will help lead planning, execution, and performance management for high-priority Americas-wide projects.
  • Develop strategies, recommendations, business cases, and executive updates, use data to identify risks and opportunities, and help convert insights into practical action plans that improve execution across hotels.
  • The example projects include the following.
    • The Customer Promise initiative involves driving planning and performance management by analyzing progress, identifying hotel-level opportunities, preparing leadership recommendations, and translating insights into applicable support plans. Additionally, it involves partnering with teams to strengthen Customer Promise communication, training, adoption, accountability, and best practice sharing across hotels.
    • The Americas Managed Property Management System Migration initiative includes leading execution support, including readiness strategy, partner understanding, communication planning, issue/action management, and post-migration stabilization. This initiative also involves identifying migration risks, dependencies, support gaps, and operational readiness needs, then recommending actions that improve execution for hotel and corporate teams.
    • The AI On-Property Enablement initiative involves shaping AI On-Property enablement by translating enterprise AI guidance into practical hotel-facing strategies, resources, training materials, use cases, and adoption support. It also involves partnering with Operations, HR, Technology, and hotel leaders to assess readiness, remove adoption barriers, and strengthen responsible, practical AI use for on-property Team Members.
What It Takes to Make the Stay
You have these minimum qualifications:
  • Five (5) years of work experience
  • Four (4) years of Hospitality operations experience with one or more Hilton brands
  • On-property hotel experience at the Manager level or above
  • 25% Travel

It would be useful if you have:
  • BA/BS Bachelor's degree
  • Experience leading strategic initiatives and managing executive-level stakeholder relationships
  • Experience using data storytelling to connect insights, implications, and recommended actions for leadership audiences
  • Experience with Hilton's Property Management Platforms (OnQ or PEP)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Co-Pilot
