Senior Manager, Sales & Business Development

Sales, NA Beauty

Reports to: Sales Director, NA Beauty

Location:  Work remotely (West Coast location preferred)

Travel: yes - up to 50%

The Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing business for Aptar Beauty representing BTY Plastic Technology, meeting revenue and sustainable profitability growth targets.  Establishing business with new prospects within targeted color cosmetic, skincare and fragrance markets. Drive growth within the client's business by identifying new opportunities within customer.  Work closely with Business Development and Technical team to grow sales.

As an Account Manager, You Will:

  • Account management of specific beauty customers
  • Meet or exceed budget for defined sales (value and sustainable profit)
  • Establish and maintain call objectives
  • Utilization of overall sales methodology processes and tools
  • Develop an understanding of the unique environment within customer (needs, problems, people, opportunities, etc), and develop a plan to improve penetration and value creation (using related Aptar tools)
  • Leadership - lead the organization in creating and sustaining our competitive advantage with your customers. 
  • Proactively involve the necessary internal resources to effectively manage your business and set the standard for service excellence.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with key personnel.
  • Make our responsiveness a competitive advantage.
  • Sell Aptar products to maximize profitability and increase market and customer share.
  • Continually learn new product and technical knowledge
  • Continually acquire more selling skills (formal training, reading, etc)
  • Stay knowledgeable of competition
  • Add value to our products through creativity, service, and strong relationships
  • Sell/upgrade our current customers into new products that increase profitability and reduce competitive threat
  • Establish special customer prices as necessary and prepare/present quotations within our pricing structure to maximize profitability.
  • Penetrate targeted list of prospective customers in targeted application fields
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development to understand application field analysis
  • Develop understanding of customer and their needs.  Establish initial meetings, plus plan appropriate follow up meetings and activity.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with customers where sales exceed $1 million annually.

Who We are Looking For

Education

  • Required:             College or University business degree, concentration in Business or Engineering preferred               
  • Preferred:            MBA or comparable degree

 

 

Experience                                         

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of Key Account Management experience

               

Skills / Abilities                                              

  • Knowledge of Beauty market preferred, with a preference for specific experience working with Asia.
  • Coordinate closely with China manufacturing teams to ensure alignment on project scope, timelines, feasibility, and technical requirements.
  • Translate customer needs into clear, actionable manufacturing instructions and ensure factory teams understand aesthetic, functional, and regulatory expectations for color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance components.
  • Partner with China-based engineering and tooling teams during new mold development, ensuring customer requirements are accurately captured and validated.
  • Oversee decoration development (e.g., silk screening, hot stamping, metallization, spray coating) by working directly with factory specialists to confirm color matching, adhesion, durability, and aesthetic quality.
  • Business Development in the color cosmetic market.
  • Experience with decoration development and new tooling launches.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sustained results and drive new business opportunities
  • Strategic thinker, able to develop creative solutions to address customer/market needs and challenges
  • Basic technical proficiency, and capability to understand relevant technology and recognize how these can be applied to generate more effective and efficient customer engagement
  • Results oriented driver of commercial initiatives that support growth strategies

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $110,000 - 150,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
