Sterling Engineering is looking for a Structural Designer in Houston, TX. This opportunity is supporting large-scale industrial, infrastructure, and engineering projects requiring structural design and modeling expertise.

Job Duties:
  • Develop structural design drawings and models utilizing AutoCAD and SP3D/S3D.
  • Support project teams in a positive and productive manner while meeting project deadlines.
  • Prepare structural design deliverables in accordance with project requirements, codes, and industry standards.
  • Perform design revisions and incorporate changes as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with engineers, designers, and other disciplines to ensure design accuracy and constructability.
  • Apply applicable codes, standards, and design practices to project assignments.
  • Communicate project status and technical information effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree preferred, or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of structural or civil/structural design experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is required.
  • Experience with SP3D (SmartPlant 3D) and/or S3D is required.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision on routine assignments and detailed instruction on new assignments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of structural drafting and design principles.
  • Experience supporting industrial, infrastructure, energy, or engineering projects is preferred.
Experience Levels Available:
  • Structural Designer II: 2-4 years of experience
  • Structural Designer III: 4-10 years of experience
  • Structural Designer IV: 10-15 years of experience
